Reading Wins a Small One

The flop came 272 and Baker checked. Reading continued with a bet of 15,000.

"I'm such a nit," said Baker as he reluctantly tossed his cards into the mucking, flashing KQ.

Reading turned over the A to show that he had the best hand and later explained that he had ace-ten.

Aaron Eggen raised to 12,000 in middle position and was called by Jennifer Francis on the button and John Favreau in the big blind.

The flop came 10Q9 and it checked to Francis who bet 15,000. Favreau called and Eggen got out of the way.

The 5 turn went check-check, bringing the 3 river. Favreau led out with a bet of 50,000 and Francis thought for a brief moment before making the call.

Favreau tabled 74 for the rivered flush to take down the pot.

Quad Queens for Doering

John Pierce got it all in preflop in the hijack against Keith Doering on the button who had the covering stack.

The flop came Q37, improving Doering to a set of queens.

"Not dead yet," said Pierce, as the dealer put out the 3 turn.

"Now I am," continued Pierce, seeing that he was drawing dead.

The Q landed on the river and Doering scooped the pot with quad queens.

With 80,000 in the middle, Peppin checked and Larson bet 18,000. Peppin then came over the top and moved all in to put Larson at risk who had about 100,000 or so behind. After taking some time to think through his decision, Larson made the call.
