Berger had woken up with aces and was a big favorite to take down the pot as the Q♥9♦7♣ flop left Curl drawing incredibly thin. He picked up a thin glimmer of hope on the K♦ turn, while the K♠ fell on the river to give him trips.

"You can't get more of a bad beat than that," Curl consoled Berger as the stacks were counted down. Curl had 138,000, while Berger had around 120,000 and was sent to the rail.
