Day 1c Completed

Running Good: Issac "Rungood" Tucker Finishes as Overall Leader After Day 1b/c

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Issac Tucker
Issac Tucker

Issac "Rungood" Tucker may spend most of his time running the iNinja poker series, but every now and then, he takes time out of his schedule to fire a tournament or two himself. So far, so good for Tucker in the 2016 RunGood Horseshoe Council Bluffs Main Event, where he bagged the overall chip lead with 237,000 at the conclusion of Day 1b.

Tucker will be first among 43 survivors of the three starting flights, with a total of 209 entries having been logged. Other players to bag piles on Day 1b and 1c included Mike Fick (236,500) and Chris Wicks (221,500), who led the 16 survivors of Day 1c.

Chunlei Yuan and Tucker were both mixing it up playing plenty of pots, and they had a huge clash late on Day 1b that sent the chip lead to Tucker, which he never relinquished. It went down during Level 9 (600/1,200/200), when the two saw a flop of {4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Yuan shipped it from the big blind for 62,500 into a pot of just 22,000, and Tucker looked pained.

"I don't see how I don't," he said.

After only a bit more thinking, he made the call.

Tucker: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Yuan: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Tucker was way ahead, and he faded Yuan's two outs on the last two streets.

As for Wicks, a late heater sent him rocketing up the counts, and he won a huge pot without a sweat late when Kyle McKinney pushed all in with the {a-Spades}{9-Spades} against him on a board of {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, with Wicks holding the {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The river was a {3-Hearts}, and Wicks collected a pot of 165,000 during Level 11 (1,000/2,000/300).

Some of the players who failed to bag: RunGood pros Ryan Tepen and Bernard Lee, as well as defending champ Brandon Fish, Duane Gerleman, "Farmer" Phil Mader, and Terry Karn.

Day 2 gets underway Sunday at noon local time, with $31,443 up top and 21 places paid. Levels move up to 45 minutes, and the winner will also claim a $2,000 World Series of Poker package. Things will kick off with about 12 minutes left in Level 13 (1,500/3,000/500), and all of the live updates will be available right here on PokerNews.

Arndt Eliminated on Final Hand

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On the last hand of the night, the big blind requested a walk, and Rich Arndt immediately shoved all in for about 45,000.

"Call," Jim Devaney announced after peeking at his cards.

Everyone else mucked.

Devaney: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Arndt: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, and Arndt was dead by the turn.

Players are bagging up.

Cornelius Doubles Through McKinney

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Julie Anna Cornelius put her last 28,500 in from a middle position, and Kyle McKinney isolated all in from the small blind.

McKinney: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Cornelius: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Cornelius was behind but that changed fast on the {8-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop, and her trips turned to quads on the {k-Diamonds} turn.

Pnewski Finishes Hanson

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Doc Hanson pushed all in for about 24,000, and Andre Pnewski shoved all in over the top.

Pnewski: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Hanson: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Hanson asked for a flush, but the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop left him drawing almost dead. The {j-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river made it official.

Pnewski Doubles Through Hanson

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Doc Hanson opened to 8,000 in the cutoff and called the shove of Andre Pnewski, who had 11,200 more in the big blind.

Pnewski: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Hanson: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

"King-jack coming," Hanson said.

Not so on the {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The river did deliver what he promised, but it was the {j-Hearts} to give Pnewski the nuts.

Fish Bluffed, Busted

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Brandon Fish
Brandon Fish

Kyle McKinney and Brandon Fish were in a battle of the blinds, and the former fired 8,000 on an {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop. Fish called, and McKinney bet 10,500 more on the {a-Hearts} turn. Fish called once more. The river brought a {3-Hearts} and a jam from McKinney. It put Fish at risk for about 24,000.

"What a set-up," Fish said. "Blind versus blind..."

A couple of minutes later, he came to a decision.

"This would be the worst bluff spot ever," he said. "I fold."

Someone invited McKinney to show the bluff, and he obliged: {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

"It was the only move I had," he said simply.

Fish busted out a couple of hands later.
