Bybee Gets Paid

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Ross Bybee bet 7,500 from middle position after an opponent checked to him on a board of {7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The player in the small blind tanked about two minutes and called, and Bybee showed him {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a boat.

Attoun Fades Spades

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Eric Bunch had an orange T1,000 chip in front of him on the button after a {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} flop, and Gabriel Attoun made it 4,000 from the big blind. He got a trio of called, and he jammed for 12,700 on the {4-Hearts} turn. One player folded, the cutoff called, and Bunch folded.

"Did you flop it?" Attoun asked, turning over {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for top pair and an open-ender.

His opponent flopped a mere flush draw though, showing {a-Spades}{5-Spades}. The river was a {9-Hearts}, and Attoun doubled up.

Taylor Picks Off a Big Bluff; Berry Stacking Up Early

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante
Will Berry, pictured here last year.

Two players checked a board of {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and Eric Bunch bet 2,100. Both players called, and an {a-Clubs} completed the board. Miles Taylor checked in the small blind, but a player under the gun fired out 6,000. Bunch immediately folded, but Taylor called just as quickly.

The player under the gun showed {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a whiffed flush draw, and Taylor had {7-Spades}{5-Clubs} for trips.

At another table, Will Berry sat in and stacked up immediately when he made a flush against an opponent firing away with a missed straight draw.

After a raise by Duma Lowery and a call from the player on the button, Megan Thomson made it 800 to go from the small blind. Three players called, and Thomson fired out 1,600 on the {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop. Only the player on the button called, and Thomson fired another 2,200 on the {j-Diamonds} turn. Again, her opponent called. Finally, Thomson checked the {2-Hearts} river and then called 3,200.

Her opponent showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a flush.

At other tables, Olivier Busquet and Rodney Spriggs have entered the tournament.

Early Success for Bybee

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Ross Bybee is off to a decent start, and he just dragged a pot to get to about 23,000. He was in the small blind and bet 550 into two players on an {8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board, and one player called from under the gun. On the {5-Clubs} river, both players checked, and Bybee's {a-Spades}{3-Spades} beat his opponent's {q-}{10-}.
