Joel Farris Eliminated In 18th Place ($1,804)

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joel Farris
Joel Farris

Joel Farris took a flop against Papa Karn that saw all the chips get in the middle on a {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop. Farris held {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the second-nut flush draw. Unfortunately, Karn held {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for top pair and the nut flush draw. The board bricked out {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, leaving Farris with just one big blind.

On the next hand, Farris limped all-in for his last blind. Matthew Blackwell raised to 40,000, and everyone else folded.

"I've got the nuts," Farris said. "You're dead."

Farris - {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Blackwell - {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out clean for the pocket pair, {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}, and Farris exits the RGPS Main Event in 18th place. For his performance this weekend, Farris takes home $1,804.

What Was That Turn

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Eric Kelly
Eric Kelly

The action folded to Eric Kelly in the lojack position and he raised to 22,000. Joel Farris called in the cutoff and everyone else folded. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Kelly counted out chips and bet 33,000. Farris quickly called.

The turn brought the {k-Hearts}. Kelly didn't slow down, betting 47,000. Farris took a little longer this time but called again. The {5-Diamonds} completed the board and Kelly put out a bet of 111,000.

Farris put his head in his hand and sighed heavily. He picked up his cards and flashed them to the nearby players, saying "What the hell was that turn?" The cards he flashed were {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a flopped full house.

Another minute in the tank and Farris slides his cards to the muck.

18 Left, 2-Table Redraw

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In typical fashion, the speed of play is starting to slow down as we reach the final two tables. The players are keenly aware the short stacks are under pressure and the bigger stacks are waiting them out.

Shane Young just exited in 19th place and the players will redraw for seats.

Aurentz Exits, Black Crippled

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Shane Fuller
Shane Fuller

We missed the action, and arrive at the table as the pot was being pushed. According to observers, Shane Fuller limped in, Tim Black completed from the small blind, and Cory Aurentz checked his option. The flop came {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Everyone checked. The turn brought the {3-Clubs}. Reports are mixed on the betting action on the turn, but all three players saw the river, which brought the {5-Diamonds}.

All three players got their stacks in the middle on the river, and when the hands were turned up, Shane Fuller showed {4-}{4-} for a flopped full house. Tim Black tabled {3-}{3-} for a turned full house, and Cory Aurentz turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a rivered wheel. Fuller's full house was best, sending him to the top of the leaderboard.
