Hand-for-Hand Play Begins

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The tournament is down to 46 players and that means hand-for-hand play will begin. During this time tournament staff will run off two minutes for each hand played. Just one more player needs to leave emptyhanded before the top 45 are guaranteed a $1,228 payday. Stay tuned!

A Round of Chip Counts

Lee Flips Out Dunlay

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Tommy Dunlay moved all in for his last 64,000 from early position and Bernard Lee looked him up from the cutoff. The rest of the players folded and it was off to the races.

Bernard Lee: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Tommy Dunlay: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop kept Dunlay out in front but then the dealer burned and turned the {a-Diamonds} to give Lee the lead. The {10-Spades} river was no help to Dunlay and he hit the rail short of the money.

Perez Avoids Bad Beat Thanks to the River

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Alberto Perez got his stack of 92,500 all in preflop and was primed to double through Tommy Dunlay.

Tommy Dunlay: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Alberto Perez: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop was a disaster for a clearly disappointed Perez as Dunlay flopped a set to take the lead. The {10-Diamonds} turn meant Perez needed an ace on the river to stay alive, and much to his delight he caught one when the {a-Diamonds} spiked to give him new life!

Mitchell's Day is Done

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Aaron Mitchel got his short stack all in preflop and found himself in a bad spot against Tommy Dunlay.

Tommy Dunlay: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Aaron Mitchell: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Mitchell had a kicker problem and it didn't get resolved as the board ran out {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts} to give Dunlay aces and kings.

Ferrera Dispatches Watson

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Keith Ferrera
Keith Ferrera

Pete Petree opened for 7,000 only to have Keith Ferrera three-bet to 17,000 from the small blind. Andrew Watson was in the big and four-bet all in for 22,000, Petree folded, and Ferrera called.

Andrew Watson: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Keith Ferrera: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

It was a flip but Watson needed to improve to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, that proved easier said than done as the board ran out an unhelpful {3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}.
