Day 1a of the RunGood Poker Series "Game 7" $675 buy-in, $100K GTD Main Event from Hard Rock Tulsa attracted 111 runners, but after 12 levels of play just 18 remained. Leading the pack with 289,000 is Justin Gardenhire.

Others to bag big stacks were Montana Bills (273,000), Keith Ferrera (191,500), Jared Ward (157,000), and Blair Hinkle (156,500), who round out the top five.

They were joined by the likes of Perry Chupp (151,000), Michael Sanders (146,500), Reggie Tynes (91,000), Shawn McCracken (55,5000, and Shelly Wise (33,000).

For Bills, he steadily amassed chips throughout the night before hitting a big hand in the penultimate level. It happened when Jerry Jones got his last 40,000 all in holding ace-jack and was looking to survive the nine-eight suited of Bills. That didn’t happen though as the latter flopped a queen-high diamond straight flush to score the elimination.

Of course, not everyone was as lucky as Bills. Among those to fire and fall on Day 1a were Daniel Lowery, Cash Carpenter, Cody Coffman, Rodney Spriggs, Sandra Main, Papa Karn, Tom Hudson, and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Bryan Campanello.

On Saturday, Day 1b and 1c will take place at Noon and 7 p.m. local time respectively. The surviving players from each flight will then return at noon on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Four More Hands

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

The tournament staff just announced the remaining player will play four more hands before bagging and tagging on Day 1a. Stay tuned for a list of survivors with chip counts, as well as a short recap of today's action.

A Late Double for Tynes

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

With around 10,000 in the pot and a flop of {4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Reggie Tynes got hit last 41,700 all in from the big blind and was at risk against Keith Ferrera, who was on the button.

Keith Ferrera: {j-Spades}{6-Spades}
Reggie Tynes: {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Tynes had flopped top pair but Ferrera was on the spade flush draw. Fortunately for Tynes, neither the {4-Clubs} turn nor {2-Hearts} river hurt him and he shipped a late double.

"Gardy's Crushing"

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

In the last hand of Level 11, Justin Gardenhire raised under the gun only to have John Moore three-bet to 15,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Gardenhire pushed back to the tune of 33,000, which Moore called.

Gardenhire then bet 10,000 on the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop and Moore called to see the {3-Spades} turn, which both players checked.

When the {j-Hearts} paired the board on the river, Gardenhire bet 39,000 and Moore thought long and hard before tossing away his hand.

"Gardy's crushing," Blair Hinkle quipped from across the table.

Montana Bills Flops Straight Flush to Bust Jones

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Sanders limped from early position and Montana Bills raised to 7,000 to his immediate left. Jerry Jones then three-bet all in for around 33,000 next to act and action folded back to Sanders, who folded. Bills made a quick call and the hands were turned up.

Montana Bills: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Jerry Jones: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

It was a race, but one that didn't last long as the flop came down {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} to give Bills a straight flush and leave Jones drawing dead.

The meaningless {6-Diamonds} turn and {q-Clubs} river was run out to make Jones' elimination official.
