Guy Gutted By Lampert

Stephan Guy
Stephan Guy

We picked up the action on a {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop after Stephan Guy had gotten his last 20,000 or so all in and was at risk against Benji Lampert.

Stephan Guy: {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Benji Lampert: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Guy had flopped trip aces but was behind the boat of Lampert. Neither the {j-Hearts} turn nor {5-Diamonds} river was what Lampert was looking for and he fell in the last level of Flight B.

Meanwhile, Roger Eggers and Jacob Lewis were both recently eliminated from the tournament.

A Late Double for Harrington

The under-the-gun player raised to 6,000 and action folded to poker reporter Brent Harrington in the small blind. The two-time Signature Ring winner opted to three-bet jam for 13,400 and the original raiser called.

Brent Harrington: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Harrington was ahead and maintained the lead as the board ran out a safe {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

Good Vibes Blind on Blind

Action folded to Johnnie Moreno in the small blind and he limped. Daniel Lowery exercised his option in the big by making it 8,000 to go and Moreno called.

Both players proceeded to check the {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop as well as the {6-Hearts} turn.

When the {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Moreno bet 5,000 and Lowery called. Moreno tabled the {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered two pair and Lowery sent his hand to the muck.

Lee Doubles Through Lowery Into Chip Lead

Daniel Lowery raised to 5,000 from the hijack and Bernard Lee defended his big blind to see a {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Lee checked, Lowery continued for 7,000, and Lee check-raised to 19,300. Lowery called and the {4-Spades} appeared on the turn. Lee bet 38,300 and called off for 119,300 after Lowery jammed.

Daniel Lowery: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Bernard Lee: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Lee had the overpair while Lowery had top pair with a flush draw. The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Lee held to double into the chip lead.

Lee Sends Khan to the Rail

Bernard Lee
Bernard Lee

In the last hand of Level 10, Mashir Khan raised to 4,300 from the hijack and RG Ambassador Bernard Lee defended his big blind to see a {4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop.

Lee checked, Khan moved all in for 31,300, and Lee thought for about a minute before making the call.

Mashir Khan: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Bernard Lee: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Lee had flopped top pair to crack Khan's nines, and he maintained that lead through both the {5-Hearts} turn and {8-Spades} river.

Garry Finishes Off Ross

Thomas Ross
Thomas Ross

Thomas Ross got his last 9,700 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Fred Garry.

Fred Garry: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Thomas Ross: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Ross got it in good but fell behind when the {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop paired Garry. The {8-Diamonds} turn didn't do Ross any favors and the {9-Clubs} put an end to his run here on Day 1b. Fortunately, he only has to wait a couple of hours for the Day 1c flight if he wants to give it another go.

Wu Busted While Waxman Gets Lucky to More than Double

Tricia Wu
Tricia Wu

We picked up the action on a {5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop with a good amount of chips already in the middle. It appeared as if Matt Waxman had checked from the small blind and Tricia Wu did the same from the big. Bob Mather bet 7,000 from middle position and Waxman called.

Wu then woke up with an all-in check-raise for 18,700 more and Mather jammed over the top. Waxman, who had 27,800 on top of Wu's shove thought long and hard before calling off.

Tricia Wu: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Bob Mather: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Matt Waxman: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Wu was on the nut flush draw, Waxman had top pair, and Mather was out in front with the pocket kings.

The {10-Hearts} turn was of no consequence, but the {q-Spades} river was as Waxman tripped up to steal the big pot and send Wu to the rail.
