Dan Lowery's Going Ham

Dan Lowery
Dan Lowery

Run Good's own Dan Lowery is known to be pretty active during the rebuy portions of tournaments, but shortly after the rebuys were closed, Lowery seemed to be ramping up the aggression.

Lowery called an all in of 20,000 with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and was up against {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Lowery won the hand, eliminating his opponent.

The next hand, the player under the gun raised to 4,000 and Lowery called from the cutoff.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Lowery called a bet of 8,500.

On the river, Lowery called 10,000 more when the {a-Diamonds} came and won the hand with {a-}{10-} against the {k-}{q-} of his opponent.

It looked like hand three would be more of the same. Lowery called 4,000 and a player behind him shoved for 29,000. The early position limper moved all in as well and Lowery folded.

It was {a-}{k-} against {k-}{q-} and Lowery said he folded {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The board ran out jack high and put two spades on the turn. Lowery would have knocked out both players with a blank on the river.

The player that won the hand said it was bad luck to give his name.

Michael Catalani Sends One Home

Michael Catalani opened in early position to 1,200 and a player reraised to 2,400. A player behind called before Catalani four-bet all in for 27,200. The three-bettor called and the last player folded.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, leaving Catalani's {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} ahead against the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} of his opponent.

The changed nothing when it came the {3-Hearts} and the river sealed the deal and gave Catalani the pot when the {a-Hearts} hit.

Natalie Schorr

Natalie Schorr is in the field today and so is her husband Stephen.

Natalie said she wasn't sure whether she would play or not, but has decided to jump in and has more than two starting stacks.

"She's running it up over there," Stephen said, "which is good for me."

He held out his 14,000 chip stack.

The Schorr's have three kids (26,21,20) and Natalie says she got into poker about three years ago.

"We do everything together. If he gets a motorcycle, I get a motorcycle. He has a very good mind for math and science so we talk about it (poker) alot. It's a healthy intellectual conversation about poker."

The couple also enjoys water sports and have been married for 28 years.

"I adore him," Natalie said of her husband.

Both of them are currently still playing Day 1B, but Natalie is doing slightly better in terms of her current chip stack.
