Kaplan Fades The World to Double

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

After three players in front of him limped, Andy Kaplan raised to 1,400 on the button which was called by Nicholas Velentzas in the small blind, and the caller in the cutoff called the raise.

The flop came out {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} which saw action check to Kaplan who continued for 2,100 which Velentzas called. The cutoff player raised to 4,200 which Kaplan responded to by re-raising to 10,000. Velentzas folded and the cutoff player called.

Turn rolled off a {3-Clubs} and Kaplan moved all-in for 27,000 sending the cutoff player into the tank. After a little bit of time he called and the cards were tabled.

Andy Kaplan: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The opponent had flopped a straight draw and flush draw combination against Kaplan's top pair top kicker. The river came a {2-Spades} and neither the straight or flush came home for the opponent, sending Kaplan to the top of the chip counts.
