Vu Calls England With King-High

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Timothy Vu
Timothy Vu

Kyna England in the big blind was in a heads-up pot against Timothy Vu from under the gun on a board reading {10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Vu fired a turn bet of 10,000 and England check-raised to around 50,000. Vu called.

The river brought the {3-Hearts} and England put out a stack of chips to put Vu all-in for around 15,000. Vu tanked for multiple minutes and eventually called.

England showed {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for king-high and Vu turned over {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} to win the pot with a better king-high. Vu took a victory lap around the tournament area after making the big call, while England was visibly flustered after taking a big hit to her stack.

"Just getting it in on the turn," said England. "That was terrible, actually."

Lower Fires Three Streets

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Picking up the action on a flop of {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} in a heads-up pot, Vaughn Lower bet 3,000 from the button and the big blind check-called.

The opponent checked on the {q-Clubs} turn and Lower fired a bet of 6,000. The opponent again called.

The opponent checked a third time on the {q-Diamonds} river and Lower took a minute before betting 16,000. His opponent let it go.

Brady Opens Big

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Mike Brady was in middle position and tossed in three grey chips for a raise to 15,000, a nearly 10x open at the current blind level of 800/1,600.

"Fifteen?" asked the player in the big blind when the action folded to him. The player then folded.

Lower Slowplays Against England

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Picking up the action on the turn on a board of {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} in a heads-up pot, Kyna England fired a bet of 6,500 and Vaughn Lower called.

England fired a bet of 16,000 on the {6-Hearts} river and Lower took a few seconds before calling.

"Eh, you win," England said before tabling {9-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a pair of nines, which was no good against the flopped straight of Lower with {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

"Slow roll! You f***ing nit!" England laughed. "I thought you just had a jack."
