The second of three starting flights will begin today at 11 a.m. of The Run Good Poker Series $600 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event at Downstream Casino In Joplin, Missouri. Players will have their second shot to get a piece of the $100,000 guaranteed prizepool as well as a seat to the Pro/Am tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Last night’s flight saw 235 players take their seats with 29 making it to Day 2, topping the 2020 Day 1a numbers by more than double. It was Jesse Jones who bagged an impressive 568,000 for the chip lead going into Day 2 and every player will be looking to top his large stack.
Players who were unable to find success in yesterday’s Day 1a, but who look to make deep runs in this flight include Duster Ellis, WSOP Bracelet Winner Mike Cordell, Edward Welch, and Survivor winner Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano, and other players expected to make an appearance include WSOP Ring Winner Daniel Lowery and former RGPS Joplin Champion Grant Hinkle.
Players will start with 25,000 in chips with the blinds starting at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Blinds will escalate every 30 minutes with a 10-minute break after every four levels. Late registration will end at the start of level 9 and players who do not find a bag in this flight will be able to play tonight in Day 1c starting at 6 P.M. tonight. Play will continue until 12.5% of the field is reached and those players will return on Sunday May 22nd at 11 A.M. to play down to the winner.

Action was picked up on the flop between Papa Karn in the small blind and a player in the big blind with a pot already brewing.
On a flop, Karn checked to the small blind who bet 700 which Karn called.
The turn of saw Karn check once more and his opponent bet the same amount, to which Karn called.
The river rolled off the and Karn led out for 3,000 to which his opponent shook his head as he turned over for a pair of queens and a missed flush draw. The big blind tossed his pair of queens into the muck and Karn took down the pot quietly.

On a board reading , action checked around to the cutoff who bet 1,000 and was called by all four players.
The turn rolled off a and action checked around, this time to the button who bet 3,000 and once more was called by all four players.
The river came out the and Molsen bet 15,000 to which none of the players called and Molsen took down the pot.

After one player called in early position, another player in the hijack raised to 900 which saw David Vieyra call in the small blind, Jamie Allen defend his big blind, and the initial caller called.
The flop came out and saw action check to the initial raiser who bet 2,000, seeing only Vierya call.
The turn of saw Vierya lead out for 3,000 and the hijack raised to 8,000 which saw Vierya quickly call.
The river came out a and Vierya checked to see the hijack move all-in for 13,300. Vierya flicked in the one chip for the call and his opponent said "you've got me," before Vierya turned over for a pair of aces.
