The next RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) champion will be crowned this weekend as the RGPS Jamul Casino Main Event in San Diego is about to get underway. The $600 buy-in tournament kicks off today at 6 p.m. Pacific Time with Day 1a.

The RGPS Jamul Casino Main Event has a guaranteed prize pool of $150,000 and is expected to surpass that as players have four starting flights to choose from. Day 1b will commence on Friday, November 18 at 6:00 p.m., Day 1c will start Saturday at 11:00 a.m., and Day 1d will be underway later that evening at 6 p.m.

Players will begin with a stack of 30,000 chips and blind levels of 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Blind levels will last for 30 minutes, and the tournament allows for unlimited re-entry up until the start of Level 9.

Day 1 will break after the top 12.5 % of the field has been reached and the surviving players will be in the money. At the end of each starting flight, the remaining players will return for Day 2 on Sunday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. and play down to a winner.

The eventual winner of the RGPS Jamul Casino Main Event will be awarded the ever-sytlish RGPS championship ring and earn the lion’s share of the prize pool, as well as an exclusive invitation and $800 seat and stipend package to the RGPS: All-Stars Pro-am Event at PokerGo Studios in December 2022.

A handful of RunGood ambassadors will take their shot in the Jamul Casino Main Event, including Joe Stapleton, Preston McEwen, Cody Stanford, and Taylor Howard.

Last month, Nebraska’s Derrick Plumage achieved back-to-back Main Event Titles as he won the RGPS Council Bluffs Main Event and earned a payday of $56,931. That event drew 576 entrants and generated a total prize pool of $299,520.
