Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Jaymie Virtusio
Jaymie Virtusio

On a heads-up turn of {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Gabriel Pardo led out for 6,000 from the small blind and was called by Jaymie Virtusio in the cutoff.

The river fell the {q-Diamonds} and pardo moved all in and Virtusio couldn't get her chips in fast enough as she tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a big full house while Pardo held {a-Spades}{2-Spades} for trip deuces.

Virtusio was pushed huge pot for a big double-up to 60,000 while Pardo was left with just 7,000.

Laipis Leads on the Turn

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Bryan Loch opened under-the-gun to 700 and was called by Eric Chastain in early position and Paul Liapis in the big blind.

The flop came out {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Liapis checked to Loch who continued for 1,000 but was then raised to 2,300 by Chastain. Liapis then put in a check-raise to 6,000 which produced a tank-fold from Loch and a call from Chastain.

The turn came the {6-Clubs} and Liapis led-jammed for around 15,000 and Chastain snap-folded to award him the pot.

Max Value for Thomas

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Horace Thomas opened to 700 from the cutoff but was then three-bet by Dustin Holladay on the button to 2,000. Yuval Bronshtein called from the small blind and Thomas also called.

The flop came out {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and action checked to Holladay, who continued for 3,400 and was called by both opponents.

But on the turn {3-Clubs}, Thomas led out for 6,500 after a check from Bronshtein, which was also called by both adversaries.

"Ok I call, maybe I'll get lucky again," Bronshtein said as he threw in his chips.

On the river {8-Clubs}, Bronshtein checked once more, and Thomas fired again for 10,000, which sent Holladay deep into the tank.

After a few minutes of pained deliberation, Holladay finally made the call, followed by a quick fold from Bronshtein. Thomas then flipped over {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a turned straight and Holladay shook his head as he threw his cards into the muck.

Welcome to Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series Jacksonville $1,200 Main Event. Today’s flight is the second of three opening days of the tournament, and if yesterday’s action is an indicator of what’s to come, bestbet Jacksonville is in for another incredible day of poker.

Josh Wang bagged the biggest stack of Day 1a, earning 689,000 chips to take into Sunday’s Day 2 after winning a massive pot on the last hand of the night when he called Peter Miller’s all-in on the river with the bottom end of a four-liner straight vs Millers single pair, which sent Miller to the rail.

There were 103 total entrants in yesterday's Day 1a with 15 of those finding bags but the play ended just right outside of the money bubble.

Day 1b will get cards in the air at 12:00 noon local time with 14 40-minute levels scheduled, however, it is possible to end earlier if 12.5% of the field is reached, at which point play will be stopped.

Players will start their day with 30,000 chips at opening blinds of 100/200 with no big blind ante until the start of level 2. Registration will remain open until the start of Level 10 which will be approximately 7:30 p.m. and re-entries are unlimited.

Players will have a 15-minute break after every third level, with a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9.

The tournament has a $300,000 guarantee and after 103 entries on Day 1a, this tournament is sure to smash the expected prize pool.

Players who survive Day 1b with a short stack will have the opportunity to play in Day 1c in hopes of accumulating a bigger stack to take to Day 2 instead.

Be sure to stay with PokerNews for live reporting from each day of action until the first-ever RGPS Jacksonville Main Event champion is crowned.
