After an open to 160,000 by Thomas Gray, David Berman moved all in and the action folded back Gray who made the call.

The flop of 10♦7♥K♦ left Berman drawing very slim and the turn 5♦ was the nail in the coffin while the J♥ river eliminated him in eighth place.
Short-stacked Shane Swank moved all in preflop for around 400,000, followed by a shove from Dane Miller for more, and then the action folded to Andrew Manchen who also put his chips into the middle, covering both.

Miller was a big favorite to scoop the entire pot, and these odds were greatly increased on the flop of 3♦K♣4♥ as he made top set.
Ironically, the runout of 6♥Q♣ gave Manchen a set of queens on the river that was no good and the massive pot was shipped over to Miller.
"Wow, well that was really bad timing," Swank sighed as he shook his head and headed to the payout desk as the first casualty at the final table.

On a heads-up turn of 8♠10♣3♦7♠, Greg Brletich checked to Brett Stevens, who moved all in for 540,000.
Brletich then went into the tank for a long while before he finally slid out a stack.
"Good call," Stevens sighed as he tabled his hand, his tournament life on the line.

Stevens wasn't quite dead yet, as he could still hit a non-spade deuce or five, but the river was the 4♠ to give Brletich the flush and he was eliminated in 10th place.
On a flop of J♣7♣Q♠, Mark Douglas got it all in against Michael Valore, who covered.

Douglas was in bad shape against the top-two pair of Valore, and he received no help on the A♠9♣ runout to eliminate him in 11th place.
After some preflop betting shenanigans, Casey Bogus and Kyle Grupp got it all into the middle, with Bogus at risk.

Bogus was in rough shape with his snowmen, and the flop of A♠K♠7♣ only made matters worse as Grupp made top set of aces. The runout of J♦6♥ changed nothing and the pot was awarded to Grupp while Bogus was sent to the payout desk.
