A total of 223 players came out to play the first day of The RunGood Resort $1,000 Main Event at Jack Casino in Cleveland, Ohio. After almost 11 hours of play, the field was finally cut down to 27 players who bagged up to continue the journey onward to Day 2.

Leading the way is Shane Swank who ended with 673,000 after some huge hands throughout the day. Close behind is Billy Kopp, brother of Katie Kopp who bagged the chip lead in Day 1a. Rounding out the top three is [B]Michael Barlow[/B] who ended with 505,000.

Not all found fortunate runouts today as many players fell to to the wayside. Players like Nicholas Rigby, Rabih Makdessi, and Eric Schutz were unable to run up a stack and hit the rail on Day 1b.

Play ended with in Level 13 with blinds at 2,000/4,000 and a 4,000 big blind ante. Play will return to this level at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, barring another flight ending earlier.

Barlow Cracks Aces in Dramatic Fashion

Michael Barlow opened to 10,000 on the button and was three-bet to 30,000 from the big blind, which he called.

On the flop of 35J, the big blind quickly moved all in for his last 41,000 and Barlow called after some pause to put him at risk.

The at-risk player was well in the lead with his aces, and the turn A further improved him to top set, but the river was the disgusting 6 to give Barlow the flush and his opponent was sent to the rail shaking his head.

On a heads-up flop of 542, Kyle Grupp checked to the button, who bet 15,000. Grupp then put in the check-raise to 35,000, which the other player called to see the 3 turn.

This time both players decided to check and went to the river K.

Grupp led out for a small sizing of 11,000 and his opponent quickly tossed out a call.

Grupp tabled 55 for a flopped set of fives and his opponent promptly mucked, claiming he also had a set.

Pollack Smashes the Flop, Harris Tosses Queens

Gregory Harris made it 11,000 to go preflop and was called by three players to see a flop of 39K.

The action checked to Harris, who also checked, and the action was then on Rick Pollack who tossed out a bet of 20,000.

The first two players quickly folded and it was back to Harris, who didn't hesitate before he folded QQ.

Pollack then showed AK for a monster holding of top pair and nut flush draw.

"Jesus, check it one time, would ya? Let me catch up!" Harris shook his head, "Ace or king only cards I didn't want to see..."
