A total of 118 players came out to play the first day of The RunGood Resort $1,000 Main Event at Jack Casino in Cleveland, Ohio. After almost 11 hours of play, the field was finally cut down to 14 players that bagged up to continue the journey onward to Day 2.

Leading the way is WSOP bracelet winner Katie Kopp who ended their day with 489,000 after busting out Jon ‘Boston’ Lewis on the stone bubble with pocket kings versus pocket jacks. She was off to a hot start early after max-late-rigging and immediately doubled up when she cracked aces with pockets tens.

Hot on her heels is David Berman who has half a million in live tournament earnings and is looking to pad his stats with another big score in this Main Event.

After a preflop betting war, Rabih Makdessi and Sahar Bibi got all of their chips into the middle, with Makdessi at risk.

Makdessi would need to hold with his tens to stay alive, but the flop of 8JK immediately provided Bibi with a king and the runout of A4 only improved him to two pair to eliminate Makdessi.

Jarrous Flushes Two Opponents

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Gabriel Jarrous

On a multi-way flop of 479, all the chips between Jamie Teal, Gabriel Jarrous, and another play found its way into the middle, with Jarrous covering.

"I just need one card!' Jarrous announced, "Deuce of diamonds!"

"Four-four!" Teal shouted, but unfortunately for him and the other player at risk, the turn immediately brought in the 9 to give Jarrous the flush.

Only a jack or a nine on the river would save Teal with a full house, but it was the 2 that Jarrous wished for to score him the big pot while Tea and the other player hit the rail.
