Day 1d Concludes
Level 15
: Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Charles Himes sent everyone home as he scored the final elimination of Day 1d to enable the final 12 players to bag their chips for Day 2.
The hand began when an opponent from early position jammed for his final 50,000. Himes called on the button, and Paul McGurk came along with a call from the small blind.
Both players checked the 7♣Q♦5♦ flop, which led to the 6♦ turn. McGurk checked, and Himes fired a bet of 15,000. McGurk called.
Himes bet 25,000 on the 10♠ river after being checked to, and McGurk folded.
Himes announced he had the nuts and showed A♦8♦, which was enough to burst the bubble as his opponent showed A♣9♣.
