Day 1cd Completed
It was a busy day at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada, as poker players came in bunches to register for their final opportunity at taking their shot at the RunGood Poker Series Grand Prix $800 Main Event title and RGPS ring. A total of 405 entries created a prize pool of $283,500, with the first-place winner scheduled to earn a prize of $58,770.
Day 1cd saw a total of 263 entrants combined between the two starting flights, with 32 being permitted to advance to Day 2 on Sunday. In total, 405 entrants took their shot across the four opening flights, with 49 players bagging for Day 2.
Donning her rubber duck bucket hat, Nikki Woodside (790,000) ended the day leading all entrants on Day 1cd.
Andrew Joros (596,000) and Daniil Fedunov (593,000) rounded out the top three finishers for Day 1cd.

Woodside enjoyed a strong run as she clashed with opponents in multiple big pots in the final two levels to make a push to the top of the leaderboard, as she got the best of her opponents over and over.
Woodside shared that she wore the rubber duck hat inside out so the ducks didn’t show, and it was only showing the black side of the hat to begin the tournament, but after a string of losses early during Day 1c, her friend flipped the hat around for good luck.
“I said I was going to wear the black until I potentially made the final table, then the ducks would come out,” Woodside said, “I lost a couple pots and she flipped my hat so the ducks came out.”
The ducks coming out ended up being the right play as Woodside would go on to enjoy a strong Day 1c, finishing at the top of the heap.
“It’s just fun. I feel lucky. Blessed to be able to hang out with my friends,” Woodside stated in the afterglow of her successful flight.

Charles Himes sent everyone home as he scored the final elimination of Day 1d to enable the final 12 players to bag their chips for Day 2.
The hand began when an opponent from early position jammed for his final 50,000. Himes called on the button, and Paul McGurk came along with a call from the small blind.
Both players checked the 7♣Q♦5♦ flop, which led to the 6♦ turn. McGurk checked, and Himes fired a bet of 15,000. McGurk called.
Himes bet 25,000 on the 10♠ river after being checked to, and McGurk folded.
Himes announced he had the nuts and showed A♦8♦, which was enough to burst the bubble as his opponent showed A♣9♣.

Players are on a 15-minute break. 13 players are remaining in the final opening flight of the RunGood Poker Series Grand Prix $800 Main Event. A total of 12 players will be permitted to bag for Day 2.
Andrew Joros has had a profitable hour as he has seen his stack grow to one of the most formidable of Day 1d. Joros and Shipley became entangled in an all-in pot with Shipley at risk for his final 40,000.
Jay Shipley: 8♦7♦
Andrew Joros: K♣K♠
Joros had Shipley in bad shape. The flop gave Shipley outs when it fanned out 4♥4♦9♦.
The J♥ was the right color, but the wrong suit, and the 8♣ river was not enough to crack the kings of Joros.

Jim Cihla: J♦8♦
Opponent: 10♥10♦
Cihla was in trouble against the wired tens of his opponent, but the flop did provide some additional outs as the fanned out 9♠8♠9♥ to give Cihla a foothold.
Cihla struck gold on the turn when it came the 8♣ to give him a full house and vault into the lead. The K♥ completed the board as Cihla dragged in the chips.
