Shankam Spikes the River to Bust Ng
Level 17
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Action was picked up on the turn in a pot between Srivatsa "Victor" Shankam from the cutoff and Timothy Ng from the big blind.
With the board reading K♦J♦2♦5♥ and 80,000 in the middle, Ng checked to Shankam who bet. Ng responded with a check-jam for his final 130,000 and Shankam called.
Timothy Ng: Q♦3♦
Srivatsa Shankam: J♠5♠
Ng flopped a flush against the turned two pair of Shankam. However, Shankam had four outs to boat up as the dealer peeled the 5♣ on the river. The entire table gasped at the vicious runout as Ng hit the exit.
