Dennis Lee
Dennis Lee

Action was picked up with the cards on their backs as Dennis Lee was all-in for his final 25,000 from under the gun.

Dennis Lee: 88 All in
Early Position: AQ

It was a coinflip scenario until the 1085 flop gave Lee top set. His opponent was drawing dead on the 5 turn to the 2 river as Lee found the full double.

Lyons Can't Hold Against Big Slick

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Pat Lyons
Pat Lyons

A player in middle position opened to 3,000 and Pat Lyons called in the hijack. The cutoff then three-bet to 11,000 and only Lyons called.

On the 932 flop, Lyons led all-in for 15,000 effective as the covering stack. The cutoff would tank for almost a minute before he shrugged and flicked in the call to put himself at risk.

Cutoff: AK All in
Pat Lyons: 77

Lyons was in good shape to score a knockout until the A landed on the turn to give his opponent the lead. The 4 river changed nothing as the WSOP bracelet winner took a dent to his stack.

Aquil Salahudeen
Aquil Salahudeen

Aquil Salahudeen opened the cutoff and was called by the button.

On the 642 flop, Salahudeen would continue for 7,000 and his opponent weighed his options for some time before he elected to call.

The turn was the 5 which saw the big blind lead for 23,000 and Salahudeen put in the call.

On the 4 river, the big blind announced all-in for just over 50,000 and Salahudeen beat him into the pot.

Big Blind: A8 All in
Aquil Salahudeen: KK

The big blind was bluffing and Salahudeen made the correct call with his overpair on a dangerous board to drag a huge one.

Nikki Limo
Nikki Limo

Action was picked up on the flop in hand between a player from middle position and Nikki Limo from the hijack in a single-raised pot.

On the J83 flop, Limo's opponent checked-called a bet of 13,000.

The 2 turn checked through to the J river which saw Limo's opponent check for a third time.

Limo weighed her options before she announced, "I know I'm supposed to get value here but it feels off," and checked back.

Middle Position: Q9
Nikki Limo: AJ

Her opponent was trapping with a rivered flush and Limo made a great check back on the river.

Ian Steinman opened to 16,000 from under the gun before the small blind jammed for 37,000 and Steinman called.

Small Blind: 66 All in
Ian Steinman: 97

"Barely a flip," joked Steinman as the cards were tabled.

The 532 flop was safe for the at-risk player as was the K turn. However, the 9 fell on the river as the player hit the table in frustration and the remaining 19 players celebrated making the money.

Xiong Thao Leads 33 Survivors from Day 1cd of the RunGood Bay Area Main Event

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Noel Rodriguez

It was another exciting day of action at the 2025 RGPS Mission RunGood Bay Area $800 Main Event.

In a day that started at 11 a.m. and ended after 2 a.m., two more opening flights have come and gone here at Graton Resort and Casino.

Many came, most failed, but some succeeded in their search for a Day 2 bag. A total of 264 entries were tallied today: 150 in Day 1c and 114 in Day 1d. However, once the dust settled just 33 players had secured a spot in Monday’s Day 2.

Today’s turnout brought the total registrants to 512 to create a prize pool of $358,400, already surpassing the $300,000 guarantee with another flight yet to come tomorrow.

Leading the way from today’s flights was Xiong Thao who bagged an impressive 595,000. Behind him in second is Sigmund Anderman with 496,000. Rounding out the podium in third is Ian Steinman who finished with 470,000.

Some notable players who tried their luck today but did not advance include WSOP bracelet and WPT winner Pat Lyons, circuit grinder Corey Paggeot, and the dynamic duo of Mimi Luu and Toko Luu.

The hand of the day was one of the most absurd runouts seen in tournament poker history. Jeremy Smith found himself all-in with pocket sevens against the pocket threes of Joe Nguyen. Both players would flop a set before Nguyen turned the case three for quads. However, the last seven peeled off on the river as the room erupted at the quads over quads runout.

Those who were less fortunate today still have an opportunity to book their ticket to Monday’s restart, as there is a final opening flight tomorrow, Monday May 11 at 11 a.m. There is no evening flight but the morning flight follows the same structure as the previous four.

The earliest that play has ended is with 13 minutes left on the clock in Level 15 with blinds at 4,000/8,000 in Day 1a. The players will return at this level on Monday unless the final flight finishes at an earlier time.
