The action has slowed down somewhat but once again, the field was cut in half compared to what they started with compared to the previous break. Only 36 hopefuls remain and there will be a single redraw today for the official final table. That may only be a matter of time, as the average has dropped below 30 big blinds for the next level.
Kanasuke faced the all-ins of Funwarii for 660,000 and the reshove by Bryan Nakamura, after which he got out of the way with all other tables already on break.
Funwarii's J♣J♦ were flipping against A♥K♦ and Nakamura had it all on the A♣A♠9♠7♥K♥ board.

With the turbo heat providing only nicknames, and the players getting their chips in every other minute, it was perhaps a surprise but none other than Jun Obara has appeared with a large stack. Known under his moniker of "Misawa", he had turned a below-average stack into much more and has been his usual bubbly self.
The chip leader to start Day 2, hide4115, was his latest victim when he got it in preflop for around ten blinds with A♠4♠. Obara only had 10♠8♠ and flopped the straight right away on J♦9♣7♣. The J♥ turn and 4♥ river were formalities to reduce the field to the last five tables, as hide4115 bowed out in 41st place.

Kanasuke first lost a bunch to big stack KBD05 when he paid off 125,000 on the river of a paired eight-high board and was shown 8♣8♥ for flopped quads.
He then tried to knock out Yoshiyasu for 465,000 preflop. His A♣9♦ were behind versus A♥10♣ and the superior kicker even paired up on the river of a 4♣3♣2♥2♣10♠ runout.

Early frontrunner taisyo has been cooled down a tiny bit as he dashed out a double to newly-arrived ryota622. The chips went in preflop for around 475,000 with ryota622 at risk holding the A♦Q♣.
taisyo and his K♠J♠ took the lead with the J♣10♠4♠ flop but the A♥ turn and A♣ river propelled ryota622 to a seven-figure stack.
