Saven and Steinman Lead The 15 Players of Day 1c

Adam Saven

The third flight of the RGPS Main Event $600 Main Event drew out a total of 126 entrants, each with the hope of snagging a piece of the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. This brings the total number of entrants in this event up to 281, but only 15 survived from this flight to join the 18 from the prior two flights.

Adam Saven (711,000) has made it a habit of final tabling the Main Event here at Reno, having finished in 9th place a year ago, and 4th place in October. The California tournament regular has amassed quite a lot of tournament results in the three years his hendon mob dates back, including final tables of WSOP bracelet events. He looks to make third time at the RGPS Main Event the charm as he sits with the biggest stack of the overall tournament.

Sitting in second is Ian Steinman (582,000) who will be securing his first RGPS Main Event cash here at Atlantis Reno. Steinman is no stranger to the tournament felt, as he has won not only an RGPS ring, but also a WSOP bracelet on top of his many tournament accolades over the years. With his wealth of poker knowledge and sizable chip stack here today, he looks to be a force to be reckoned with on Day 2.

He will be joining multiple regulars from this flight including Art Tanimoto (480,000), Victor Paredes (373,000), and Lexy Gavin-Mather (72,000). Each will be looking to become the newest RGPS Main Event champion.

Fortune didn’t smile on everyone today. Players like Jeffrey Day, Mallory Klaus, Denis Lee, and last October’s runner up Michael P Harris, all were eliminated from the tournament and will have to rely on the final flight tonight to see a chance at grabbing a piece of the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Play continued into Level 16 so these players will return to the time that was on the last flight. Play ended in that flight with 29:38 left in Level 14, with blinds at 3,000/6,000 and a 6,000 big blind ante. This will be the flight that players return to on Day 2, unless another flight ends earlier than this.

Be sure to check back in with PokerNews later tonight to see where the other players end up in the final flight.
