Day 2 of San Diego Poker Classic $600 Main Event Kicks Off at Noon

Day 2 of the $600 Main Event at the San Diego Poker Classic is set to resume at 12:00 p.m. local time here at Jamul Resort Casino. The four Day 1 starting flights saw a total of 375 entries, 43 of which will be returning for the final day of action. The remaining players will be battling it out for a piece of the $195,000 prize pool with the first-place prize of $41,126 going to the winner, along with the SDPC wave trophy.

Day 1a attracted 86 runners, with 10 advancing to Day 2. Caleb Overby bagged the overwhelming chip lead with 613,000 and will enter the final day as the overall chip leader.

Day 1b saw even more action, with 92 challengers showing up, but only 11 making it through. Ken Morey finished the flight as the player on top with 555,000.

Day 1c was the biggest flight of them all, with a total of 115 entries tallied. Of the 14 who survived, it was Michael Megison who finished the flight as the chip leader with 596,000.

Day 1d was the smallest of the four flights, but still drew a respectable 82 entries. Only 10 players found a bag for the final day and it was James Kozono who sat atop the counts with 513,000.

Tolga Gesli and Sebastian Acevedo were the only two players to double-bag and qualify for the final day with two stacks. Their smaller stack will be removed from play at the start of Day 2 and will be credited with a min-cash.

Action will resume with 3:10 remaining in level 14 with blinds at 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante and the tournament will play down to a winner. Levels will be 40-minutes in length and a 15-minute break will occur at the end of every three levels.
