Day 1cd Completed
The third of four starting flights has wrapped up in the $600 Main Event here at the San Diego Poker Classic hosted by Jamul Resort Casino. Of the 115 runners who started Day 1c, only 14 players found a bag for Day 2 on Sunday, all of whom have locked up a min-cash.
Michael Megison ascended to the top of the counts, bagging an impressive 596,000 - good for second in the overall standings through the first three flights. Megison climbed steadily throughout the day and propelled himself atop the leaderboard on the last hand of the day when he flopped a set to crack Ivan Bereza's pocket aces on the stone bubble.
Right behind Megison is Patrick Wamsley (541,000) who was the only other player in Day 1c to eclipse the half-million chip mark. He remained active during the bubble, using well-timed aggression to chip up. Rounding out the top three is Michael Kaplitz with a respectable 341,000.

Jamie Kerstetter was in the mix but was unable to find any momentum throughout Day 1c. She fired multiple bullets but ultimately lost a flip with pocket sixes against Joe Zomorrodi's ace-jack suited after late registration had closed.
Day 1d began at 6:00 p.m. local time, and chip counts will be posted once the flight is completed. There are currently 82 entries in the last of the four flights at the time of writing.
Players who advance from each flight will combine and return for Day 2 on Sunday, August 24 at 12:00 p.m. local time, where the tournament will play down to a winner. The final day will then resume at the earliest blind level of the four Day 1 flights.

The final 14 players of Day 1c are bagging up for the night and will return for Day 2 on Sunday, August 24 at 12:00 p.m. local time where the event will play down to a winner.
Day 1d is currently underway, with 66 entries thus far. Stay tuned to PokerNews for a recap of the day's action.
Ivan Bereza raised to 30,000 under the gun and Michael Megison defended in the big blind.
The flop came 7♠2♥10♥ and Megison check-raised to 80,000 over Bereza's continuation-bet of 30,000. Bereza then reraised all in for 150,000 total to put himself at risk and Megison snap called.
Ivan Bereza: A♥A♦
Michael Megison: 2♦2♣
The J♦ turn and 9♠ river offered no help to Bereza and he was eliminated on the stone bubble in brutal fashion.

Sebastian Acevedo raised to 35,000 under the gun and Silas Tooley three-bet jammed on the button for 57,000. Acevedo called with the covering stack.
Silas Tooley: J♦J♥
Sebastian Acevedo: 10♣10♥
The flop came A♦3♥A♣ with Tooley still in the lead. He sealed the deal on the J♣ turn, improving to a full house and the meaningless 3♦ fell on the river.
