The $600 Main Event at Jamul Poker Open is Ready to Begin

Jamul Casino Resort

A full week of side events sponsored by the RunGood Poker Series has led to the pinnacle event just outside of the San Diego area in Southern California. Jamul Casino Resort is playing host to another big poker stop and it is time to get ready for the $600 Main Event, which will take place throughout the weekend.

This event will see four starting flights over the next two days with a winner being crowned late on Sunday. The iconic RGPS ring will be handed out along with a hefty payout in this $100,000 guaranteed event.

Just a brief two months ago, it was Stefan Isensee who outlasted a field of 368 entries to capture his first title and $29,110 after a three-way ICM deal. It was the most recent tournament series held at Jamul Casino Resort. Nova Baghdasarian comes in as the defending champion, defeating Maurice Hawkins in the 2025 version of the Jamul Poker Open.

The cards are scheduled to go in the air at 11:00 a.m. local time on the West Coast for Day 1a. The later flight, Day 1b, will get started around 6:00 p.m. and carry on throughout the night. The levels will be 30 minutes in length throughout all of Day 1 with a 15-minute break after every four levels.

Players will be seated with a stack of 30,000 chips and the blinds will kick off at 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. Late registration will remain open until the start of level 9, approximately 3:30 p.m. for the opening flight. Play will wrap up when just 12.5% of the field remains and players must bag chips for Day 2 in order to make the money.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the updates throughout Day 1a, and chip counts will be posted from Day 1b later on.
