Duran Flops a Pair to No Avail
Level 9
: Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Armando Mesina raised it up in middle position and Mark Duran defended from the big blind. The flop came Q♠8♥2♦ and Duran just ripped all in for around 30,000. Mesina quickly called but neither player wanted to show their cards for a moment.
Mark Duran: J♣2♣
Armando Mesina: K♣K♦
Duran flopped a pair of deuces but was in tough against the pocket kings of Mesina. The 7♦ and 5♥ runout changed nothing and Duran was bounced from Day 1a.
