Hughes Smacks the River
Level 7
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
With around 15,000 in the pot on a flop of 3♥10♦6♠, the small blind bet 4,000 and Daniel Hughes called in the hijack.
The turn was the 9♣ and the small blind bet another 10,000. Hughes called to see the 4♣ river, where the small blind moved all in. Hughes snap-called for 23,700.
His opponent turned over Q♦Q♥, but Hughes had rivered a straight with 5♦2♣. "That was bad. I was going to bluff him and I got there," Hughes sheepishly said as he raked in the double up.
