Jones Gets an Unconventional Double Off Grant
Level 8
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jesse Jones raised to 23,000 in the cutoff and Ernest Grant called under the gun. Grant didn't notice that Jones had 900 behind and turned over his A♥Q♦. A tournament official was called over, and Grant was given a warning about exposing his cards.
Both players checked to the turn on a board of 9♥7♥6♠9♣ when Grant moved all in. Jones called off his last chips with K♣5♣, and he spiked a straight on the 8♣ river to win the pot and double up.
"Never seen that before. Never will again," tablemate Lucas Hudson said.
