Elwood Blasts Away at Roberts
Level 14
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Kevin Elwood raised to 12,000 on the button, John Roberts three-bet to 30,000 in the small blind, and Elwood called.
The flop came A♣7♣K♦ and Roberts bet 20,000. Elwood then raised to 50,000, and Roberts called.
The turn was the K♠ and Elwood bet 80,000. Roberts spent several minutes in the tank before finally giving up his hand, and Elwood took down the pot.
While this hand was in progress, over at the other table Vincent Ramirez had moved all in for 37,000 from the hijack on a board of J♣8♠A♠9♦ and Kenneth Wright called in the big blind. Ramirez showed K♣10♠ for a straight draw, while Wright had A♣6♣. The river was the A♥, and Wright improved to trips to win the pot and send Ramirez to the rail.
