Justin Arnwine in a Familiar Spot Heading Into Day 2 of the RGPS Maryland Main Event
The first time the RunGood Poker Series came to Maryland last October, Justin Arnwine did what he did best: he dominated the tournament.
Nearly a year later, Arnwine is on the verge of doing it yet again. The prodigious poker trophy accumulator leads 43 players chasing the championship ring when Day 2 of the RGPS Golden Expedition Maryland $1,300 Main Event begins at 12:15 p.m. local time.
Arnwine is the only player above the million-chip milestone with 1,223,000. His closest challenger is Ivan Tomic with 942,000, while Nathan Farlow (859,000), Ari Katz (744,000), and Michael Stroman (741,000) complete the top five.

Another past RGPS Maryland champion is also still in the hunt. Arash Asadabadi won this event in April, and he’s back for a shot at a repeat performance with a stack of 444,000 to begin Day 2. Other players returning include Christopher Caruso (730,000), Casey Hatmaker (712,000), Boris Kravets (501,000), Maclaren Chatham (492,000), and Kashka Corpening (479,000). Further down the leaderboard are last year’s runner-up Russ Dunlevy (236,000), Nicholas Rigby (185,000), Greg Raymer (179,000), and April’s runner-up John Major (159,000).
A total of 329 players descended on the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill over three starting flights. The official prize pool should be announced shortly after the start of the day. The action on Day 2 picks up with 17 minutes remaining in Level 15 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an 8,000 big blind ante. Each subsequent level will be 50 minutes, before being extended to 60 minutes once the final table is reached.
