Straight for Shouey
The hand began witih a limp by James Shouey from early position. It was raised to 1,000 from two seats over, which led to a call from an opponent out of the big blind. Shouey came along with a call to create a three-handed pot preflop.
The 3♣7♣7♥ flop led to a pair of checks before the original raiser continued for 2,000. Both the small blind and Shouey made the call.
It checked again to the original raiser before they fired a second barrel for 2,000. The small blind folded, but Shouey stuck around with a call.
Shouey checked the 6♦ river, but the original raiser was done putting more chips in the pot as they also checked to go to a showdown.
The original raiser tabled 8♠8♣ for two pair, but it was no good, as Shouey tabled 5♣4♦ for a rivered straight to claim the pot.
