Turn Saves Welch
Level 13
: Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
The button raised to 10,000 before Tristan Welch opted to jam from the big blind for 66,000. Welch was snap-called by his opponent on the button, putting him at risk.
Tristan Welch: 9♦9♣
Opponent: A♣A♦
Welch was in deep trouble as he ran into pocket aces and was left with only two outs as they took a flop.
The flop came Q♥K♥8♣ to keep the pocket aces well in control, as it appeared that Welch was heading for the exit.
The turn had other plans for Welch when the 9♠ peeled to improve Welch to a set of nines and flip the script against his opponent, who was now down to two outs with one card to go.
The J♦ completed the board as Welch escaped elimination against pocket aces.
