Christian Mazzarelli Rides Quads to a Big Stack
Christian Mazzarelli was already sitting on a big stack, but he joined the ranks of the chip leaders in spectacular fashion.
Mazzarelli had flopped a set of kings against his opponent’s top pair of aces, then improved to quads on the river to earn the knockout. Mazzarelli heads into the second break with around 150,000 and has been enjoying his time so far today at this table.
“It’s a good day. It’s a good start to the day. I drove here this morning. It’s been a good day. Feeling good this morning,” Mazzarelli said.
“It’s a fun table. Everyone’s chatting up. It’s fun. It’s more casual than some of the other tables. We’ve had three quads. We had back-to-back-to-back knockouts. The chips are flying at this table, for sure.”
The young Philadelphia native says he’s been playing poker since college and has more than $130,000 in career earnings, with cashes dating back to 2022. Seeking to become the first-ever RunGood Poker Series champion here at the Borgata, Mazzarelli says he hopes this event is just the first of many to come.
“It would be nice. Any title would be nice. The RunGood title would be cool. It’s cool you guys are coming to Borgata. I’m an East Coast guy. We need more stuff here. If we get more stuff here, it’s good for me. It’s good for everybody,” he said.
