Ducks for Thompson

Erick Torres
Erick Torres
Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Alain Raad raised from early position, and Jason Thompson went all-in for 32,500 from the big blind. Raad called to put Thompson at risk.

Jason Thompson: 2♦2♣All in
Alain Raad: A♦Q♥

Thompson was slightly ahead as they went to a runout, and the J♣8♥9♥ flop kept Thompson ahead.

The 7♦ turn presented a straight draw on the board, but Thompson evaded danger and the chop when the 4♣ river peeled to give Thompson the double with his pair of deuces.

Toley Records Knockout

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player under-the-gun opened to 3,000 before the next seat over chose to go all-in for 16,000. A player in middle position called before Johnathan Toley called on the button to put the all-in player at risk.

The middle position bet 8,000 on the A♥A♦2♣ flop and was called by Toley.

Both players checked the 6♣ turn and the Q♣ river to go to a showdown.

The middle position showed K♣J♥ for king high. Toley showed 10♣10♠ for a pair of tens, which was enough to scoop the whole pot as the all-in player preflop showed 8♥8♦ for an inferior pair.

Temiz On a Roll

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The player from early position raised to 4,000 and was called by Fuat Temiz in the next seat over.

The big blind shoved for 19,000 and was called by both to be at risk as Temiz and the early position player played for a side pot.

Both remaining players checked every street on the board of 4♦8♦9♣9♠K♠.

Temiz tabled A♣4♥ for a pair of fours, which was enough, as the early position player showed A♠10♠ for ace high, and the big blind revealed 2♣2♦ for a smaller pair.

With that win, Temiz inches closer to the half-million mark in chips.

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Will Margo opened to 4,000 on the button, which led to the small blind making the call before Fuat Temiz called out of the big blind.

All three players checked through the [10Jc8h] flop and the 4♠ turn to bring the 5♣ river.

The small blind checked again before Fuat Temiz bet 5,000. Margo called, and the small blind folded.

Temiz showed A♥3♥ for ace high. Margo tabled 9♦8♦ for a pair of eights to claim the small pot.

Raad Doubles Through Allred

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Alain Raad opened to 4,500 from early position before Scott Allred called on the button. Both blinds came along to create a four-handed pot.

The blinds checked to Raad on the 5♥6♦J♥ flop. Raad continued for 12,000, but Allred raised the price as he bumped it to 37,000.

The blinds folded before Raad went all-in for 63,500. Allred called to put Raad at risk.

Alain Raad: K♣K♦All in
Scott Allred: Q♦J♣

Raad was ahead with his overpair, and the turn cemented his lead as it came the K♠ to improve Raad to a set.

The inconsequential 8♦ river completed the board to award Raad the pot.

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The button got the action started with a raise to 6,000. The small blind called, but Fuat Temiz in the big blind wanted to play for more and opted to raise to 18,000.

The button and the small blind both called to keep the pot three-handed.

All three players checked the 4♣10♥Q♣ flop to bring the 7♦ turn.

The small blind checked again before Temiz put out a bet of 14,500. Both the button and small blind folded.

Temiz showed K♦K♠ as he dragged in the pot.

A player under-the-gun raised to 3,500 and was called in the next seat over.

Scott Allred responded with a re-raise to 11,000. The under-the-gun player folded, but the next seat went all-in for 23,500 and was called by Allred to be at risk.

Opponent: A♣5♥All in
Scott Allred: A♦Q♦

Allred held on the 3♥9♦7♠ flop.

The 9♥ turn presented some chop possibilities, but the J♦ river was not one of those possibilities as Allred took down the pot as he continues to build a stack on Day 1a.
