Poker T-Shirts and Rings

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Michael Chilton
Michael Chilton

When you see Michael Chilton at the poker table, you may notice he always wears poker-themed t-shirts at the table.

Chilton shared with PokerNews that the shirt collection has grown due to gifts from his family, who are aware of his passion for the game. Chilton then began to wear them at the table.

“I’ve probably got about 10 that I cycle through every stop,” Chilton said. “As long as people keep giving them to me, the collection will keep expanding.”

T-shirts aren’t the only poker memorabilia that Chilton is collecting, as he is the owner of three RunGood Poker Series rings. The most recent came at the RGPS Passport St. Louis stop when Chilton took down the $250 Closer Event.

Chilton shared that he began playing poker approximately ten years ago. He started as a cash game player, but began to focus on tournaments as time went on. Chilton, a Kentucky resident, stated that he likes to hit three to four stops that are in his region.

For Chilton, poker is a competitive outlet as well as an opportunity to travel.

“I’m 55. The goal was to be good enough at this that I can win 30 to 40 thousand a year, travel with the wife and get other people to pay for it,” Chilton said in jest.

Chilton shared that he enjoys the RunGood events specifically for the buy-in ranges the circuit offers and the variety of events the stops offer.

“The buy-ins are reasonable. There’s generally always something happening when RunGood is going on,” Chilton said.
