The curtains have closed on Day 1c as only one flight remains to finalize who will advance to Day 2 at the RunGood Poker Series Passport Joplin $600 Main Event at Downstream Casino Resort. Day 1c hosted a total of 200 entries, resulting in 25 players bagging for Day 2 as they are now in the money and are ensured a piece of the $100,000 guarantee.

Benjamin Rohrs (662,000) led all comers on Day 1c. Kenneth Gregory (473,000) and Cameron Nesvold (455,000) finished second and third in chips.

Rohrs’ day crossed the six-figure mark when he knocked out Joshua Hatfield. Rohrs never looked back as he continued to trend upward and bag as the Day 1c chip leader.

“Just trying to bag was an exciting goal for me; this was more than I expected. It’s awesome,” Rohrs said. “I just won every flip. I’ve been on the other side of that, but it was just one of those days where the flips went my way.”

Rohrs shared with PokerNews that he was a sporadic poker player for years, but it was in the last year that Rohrs was fortunate to have more time to pursue his hobby. Rohrs has taken his game more seriously and has been trying to play more tournaments with his newfound spare time.

Rohrs was thankful for the experience and expressed an eagerness to continue on to Day 2 and have an opportunity to make a deep run and enjoy the experience while it lasts.

“It was really fun to go against players I recognized from winning RunGood events. I was fortunate to be hot when I ran into those good players,” Rohrs said. “I’m excited to have a chance to really make a run at it tomorrow.”

Gregory finished second in chips and will be looking to join the five-time winners club as he pursues his fifth RGPS ring. Gregory will also have the opportunity to surpass six figures in earnings at RunGood events, making Day 2 a day of several benchmark opportunities for the RunGood regular.

Only one flight remains to determine who will return for Day 2.

Hanunyah Fish (388,000), Thanh Bui (167,000), Bobby Sanoudane (71,000), and Matthew Riffel (304,000) are all in the hunt for their second ring as they will be aiming to get their second RGPS title.

Day 1d is currently underway and has a total of 234 entries at the time of this publishing. Full chip counts and information on the flight will be posted in the morning. Final chip counts for Day 1d can be found on the RunGood Rewards App.

Play will resume at 11 a.m. on Day 2 as a new champion will be crowned at the RGPS Passport Joplin $600 Main Event. The blinds will resume at the lowest level achieved during the Day 1 flights. All players who qualify for Day 2 will be in the money.

Benjamin Lampert went all-in for his final 28,000 from early position. Brandon Elmore made the call from the hijack to put Lampert at risk.

Benjamin Lampert: 44All in

The 2 river got a reaction from the table as Elmore spiked his straight to eliminate Lampert from contention and end Day 1c.
