2026 RGPS Passport Reno
Daniil Fedunov, local tournament player and owner of Crazy D’s Hot Chicken in Reno, Nevada, comes from a poker background as his father, Gennadiy, passed on the hobby. The hobby stuck as both father and son continue their poker journey to this day as mainstays of the local tournament poker scene.
Daniil shared that he and his father were not playing as much for a period of time, but they got the poker bug when Daniil put together a big score in the fall of 2023, which reignited their passion for the game.
“I really like to be able to play in a bigger field. I like the big prize pools and the rings are cool too,” Fedunov said jokingly as he described what he enjoys about the RunGood Poker Series stops at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno.
Fedunov considers himself a tournament player and shared that he doesn’t enjoy the dynamic of cash games versus tournaments. Fedunov has played since he learned from his father and played with his family and friends at home. He continued playing as an adult as he prefers the competitive dynamics of tournaments and likes to strive to make the right decisions, whether he wins or loses.
“It’s just more rewarding for me. Cash games have too many swings. Even though tournaments take a longer time, you have a chance at a big score.”
Fedunov is currently sitting with a healthy stack on Day 1a as he has thus far put together a strong showing as he looks to advance to Day 2 at the RGPS Passport Reno Main Event.
Registration is now closed for Day 1a. The first flight of the RGPS Passport Reno Main Event hosted a total of 53 entries with 24 remaining. This means that six players are entitled to bag for Day 2 from this flight.

A raise from early position set the stage as the player in the hijack responded with an all-in for 22,700. Daniil Fedunov opted to three-bet in response as the early position player got out of the way, as Fedunov had his all-in opponent at risk.

Daniil Fedunov: Q♦Q♠
Fedunov was well ahead, and the runout of 10♦7♥10♣7♦9♠ did not complicate the matter as Fedunov took down the pot.

The action started with a raise to 2,700 from under the gun before the player in the next seat over made the call. Poong Cho elected to re-raise to 16,300 from the hijack.
The under-the-gun player folded, but the other early position opponent chose to go all-in after giving it considerable thought. Cho put the chips in the middle to put his opponent at risk.
Opponent: 8♣8♦
Poong Cho: J♥J♣
Cho needed to hold. The flop was a welcome sight as it came down J♦3♦5♣ to improve Cho to a set of jacks.
The meaningless A♥ turn and 3♠ river completed the board as Cho nears the 200,000 chip mark after the win.

He got one customer out of the hijack as they took a flop of 7♦Q♦5♣.
Lu checked the flop, which led to a bet of 5,000 from the hijack. Lu called to stay in the hand.
The 9♣ river was knuckled by both players, as Lu showed 10♥10♦ to win the hand.
