Lafata Off to a Good Start

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Mark Lafata
Mark Lafata

Action picked up on the turn in a hand between Mark Lafata in the hijack, the player in the cutoff, and the player in the small blind.

With about 4,500 in the pot and the board reading A8Q10, the small blind led out for 2,500, Lafata raised to 8,000, and the cutoff called. The small blind thought for a moment before calling as well.

On the K river, it checked to Lafata who placed a big bet of 35,000. The cutoff went into the tank before giving up his hand and the small blind took some time to think through his decision before folding Q10 face-up.

Lafata showed KJ for Broadway as he dragged in the pot.

Big Blind Special for Henricks

William Henricks

Action went three-ways to a flop of 587 in a limped pot and it checked over to the player in the cutoff who bet 700. William Henricks called in the big blind, as did the under-the-gun player.

The 3 turn checked through to the 6 river where Henricks led out for 1,200. Under the gun called and the cutoff got out of the way.

Henricks tabled 95 for the straight and under the gun mucked.

"Big blind special," said Henricks as he dragged in the pot.

RGPS Passport St. Louis Main Event Continues with Day 1b

RGPS Passport Season
RGPS Passport Season

The RunGood Poker Series Passport Season continues at Hollywood Casino St. Louis, with Day 1b of the $800 Main Event taking place today at 5:00 p.m. local time. The tournament features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, with four Day 1 starting flights taking place over three days. Players who advance from each flight will combine and return for Day 2 on Sunday, March 8, where a winner will be crowned.

Almost a year ago, the 2025 Mission RunGood edition of the event attracted 640 runners, and through the first starting flight, 117 entries have been tallied this time around. Only 14 of those competitors will be advancing to Day 2, all of whom have already made the money. After a solid turnout for the opening flight, the tournament is expected to get huge numbers as the rest of the weekend plays out.

Chris Audrain emerged as the overwhelming Day 1a chip leader, bagging an impressive 630,000. On his heels in second and third sit Paul Fehlig (513,000) and Joseph Herboth (480,000), respectively. Tyler Breeding (212,000) finished third for $55,603 in the main event the last time the RGPS was in St. Louis, following a three-way ICM deal. He will look to repeat his performance this time around.

Players will begin each starting flight with 40,000 in chips and blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Blinds will be 30 minutes in length during the Day 1 flights and will increase to 40 minutes for Day 2. Late registration is open until the start of Level 9, where players have the option to forfeit their stack and reenter for $800.

Should a player choose to play multiple Day 1 flights, only the highest qualifying stack will be permitted to continue to Day 2. Any lower stack(s) will be removed from play at the start of Day 2 and receive a min-cash.

Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 12.5% of the field (rounded down) remains and those who bag will be in the money. Day 2 will then start at the earliest blind level of the four flights on Sunday, March 8, where the event will play down to a winner.
