The newly revamped RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) “All-Stars Comeback Tour Powered by PokerGO” season will be heading back out West in September for the first-ever appearance at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in the Sacramento area. PokerNews will be on-site to offer live updates from the $575 buy-in Main Event.

“We are excited about being a part of the Thunder Valley Casino Resort roster of special events. Seeing the tour grow to be successful in all parts of the country has been one confidence boost after another as we continue to get back on our feet,” said Hayley Hochstetler, VP of Media of RunGoodGear.com.

From September 22-26, the tour will travel up to Lincoln, California for an inaugural stop at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort Poker Room. The four-day event will feature three tournaments with a $575 buy-in, $200K GTD Golden Ticket Ring Event and $300 Last Chance KO event each awarding a seat to the All-Stars ProAm.

The room will be celebrating its own moniker opening day as the newly minted NorCal Card Kings will see its debut on t-shirts and hats to be handed out during the series. A $200,000 GTD prize pool headlines the Golden Ticket Ring Event making the stop not one to miss.

For those learning about the All-Stars ProAm event, it is a 64-player capped event in December streamed from inside the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Part of the field will qualify through the tour, while the remaining spots will be filled by invitees of PokerGO and RunGood that include poker professionals, industry personalities, and celebrities.

Duffield Catches Up On the Turn

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

George Duffield raised to 1,600 from early position, and found callers in the hijack and the big blind.

Action checked to the hijack on a {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop, and he bet 3,000. Only Duffield called.

Duffield check-called a bet of 4,000 from the hijack on the {q-Hearts} turn, and both players checked the {7-Spades} river. The hijack flipped over {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens, but Duffield held {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a pair of queens and the winner.

Vito DiStefano

The hijack bet 4,500 into a pot of 6,000 with a {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} board on the felt, and Vito DiStefano called on the button.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the river, and the hijack checked. DiStefano bet 15,000, and the hijack, who had around 18,000 left in his stack, tanked for just over a minute before releasing his hand.

DiStefano flipped over {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for just a pair of fives, and Maurice Hawkins said, "You bluffed...and you showed it!" to a grinning DiStefano.

David Albertson Wins Event #1: $250 Super Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

While our live updates this weekend are focused on the $600 Main Event, this tournament is actually the culmination of a week's worth of tournaments.

It all started earlier in the week with Event #1: $250 Super Stack NLH (Re-Entry), a tournament that easily surpassed its $25,000 guarantee as 376 runners generated a $77,080 prize pool. The top 49 players got paid a minimum of $366 and some of those walking away with a cash were Joe Duchman (10th - $1,341), Isolda White (20th - $771), and Scott Baumstein (26th - $540), just to name a few.

After Mark Cannon exited in third place for $7,194, the final two players ended the tournament with an even chop. Lisa Teebagy finished as runner-up while David Alberston, who had the chip lead, claimed the title and RGPS championship ring.
