Break Time

The remaining field is off on a ten-minute break. Registration for Day 1b of the RunGood Poker Series All Stars Horseshoe Council Bluffs $575 Main Event will come to a close at the conclusion of this break. One final flight is set to kick off at 7 p.m. local time this evening for players looking to take one last chance at securing a bag.

Queens Can't Beat Queens

Kyle Hinnerichs
Kyle Hinnerichs

Tayler Hinnerichs limped in from under the gun, and Steve Fredlund limped along in middle position. Brett Sheets raised to 4,100 from the hijack, and Clint Center three-bet shoved for 16,200 in the small blind. Hinnerichs four-bet shoved for 36,000, and Fredlund and Center folded.

Clint Center: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Kyle Hinnerichs: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The duo were assured a chop on the {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} flop, and the {a-Clubs} turn and {j-Diamonds} river peeled off harmlessly.

"I folded jacks!" Fredlund said with a wry grin after the river fell.

McLamb Snags the Rest of Lowery's Stack

Daniel Lowery
Daniel Lowery

Daniel Lowery raised to 2,300 from middle position, and was called by Hilton McLamb in the hijack, as well as the player in the small blind.

The small blind checked the {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, and Lowery jammed for 4,500. McLamb was the only interested party, and it was easy to see why once the cards were tabled.

Hilton McLamb: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Daniel Lowery: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Lowery was in dire need of running cards to survive, but found none on the {9-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river to bust.

Dirksen Chips Up

A player raised to 2,200 from the cutoff, and Pete Dirksen three-bet to 6,100. The cutoff called.

Dirksen fired 12,000 into the pot on the {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, and the cutoff counted down his own stack for a moment, then flung his cards into the muck.

Sciscoe On a Massive Heater

Timothy Sciscoe
Timothy Sciscoe

"Quad three's twice! Two straight flushes! Five boats!" an animated Doc Hanson told the PokerNews media desk with a grin, referring to his former tablemate Timothy Sciscoe. "This guy has hit everything! He just knocked me out, I made the nut flush, he goes runner-runner quad threes!" Hanson, who indicated he's "going to Hooters" for now and is firing Day 1c later instead of rebuying, was still all smiles in telling the good fortune of Sciscoe.

A quick look over the table saw Sciscoe continuing the blazing hot streak, with his {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} making a full house against the {a-}{q-} of his opponent on a {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board to eliminate them. Sciscoe, like Tim Rystrom in the Day 1a flight, has soared to a monstrous chip lead in the middle stages.

Boss Fires Howard

A player raised to 1,400 from middle position, and Shawn Boss called next to act. Taylor Howard three-bet shoved for 17,600, and after the middle-position player folded, Boss called.

Taylor Howard: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Shawn Boss: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Howard's kicker proved fatal after the {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} runout, and he was eliminated.

Ron McMillen in the House!

Ron McMillen in previous action
Ron McMillen in previous action

Ron McMillen recently took his seat in today's Day 1b flight of the $575 Main Event, and he's no stranger to beating large fields. McMillen managed to outlast a 1,026-entry field in last year's WSOP Online Event #3: $400 No Limit Hold'em, earning "MacDaddy15" his first WSOP gold bracelet, along with a $188,214.57 payday.

McMillen's first bullet in today's tournament last just a few hands, as no sooner than he took his seat, he was seen leaving it after losing a three-way clash. He was spotted at the registration desk shortly after, however, so we'll keep an eye on his progress and see if "MacDaddy15" can make another deep run in a huge field event.

Adolfo Chavez Ships Event #5: $200 Two Green Chip Bounty Ring Event

Adolfo Chavez
Adolfo Chavez

A series of preliminary events have been taking place in the Horseshoe Council Bluffs poker room leading up to this weekend's $575 Main Event, and PokerNews is sharing brief recaps of the week's action.

202 entrants ponied up the $200 entry fee for Event #5: $200 Two Green Chip Bounty Ring Event, in hopes of snagging some $50 bounties on their way to victory. Every player in the tournament had a $50 bounty on their heads, making the action fast and frenzied as players vied for those bounties.

Only 21 players would manage to walk away with a piece of the main prize pool, and after a three-way deal it was Adolfo Chavez who would be crowned the king of the bounties, managing to earn a $6,041 payday on top of the bounties he accrued along the way, the coveted All-Stars Ring, and 25 Casino Championship points.
