A player raised to 1,500 from middle position, and Doc Hanson three-bet shoved for 7,100 from the small blind.
"Not much," he told the table as the dealer counted down the stack. It was enough, however, as both the big blind and the original raiser folded.
"Prettiest card in the deck!" Hanson said, twirling the 
up on the felt before raking in the pot.
A player opened to 2,600 from under the gun, and Matthew Elliott three-bet shoved for 12,000 next to act. Action folded back to the under-the-gun player, who called.

Mikey Wangh checked a 
flop from the small blind, and Tayler Russell bet 2,500 into the pot of 5,000 from early position. Brett Sheets called on the button, and Wangh folded.

fell on the river. Russell bet 3,500, and Sheets called. Russell turned over 
for trip tens, and Sheets mucked.
A player from under the gun bet 3,000 into a pot of 5,000 on a 
flop, and Philip Raisor made the call on the button.
The under-the-gun player continued for 4,000 on the turn, and Raisor called again.
The completed the board on the river, and the under-the-gun player fired 5,000. Raisor raised to 15,000, and the under-the-gun player called, showing 
for king-high. That was no good, however, as Raisor held 
for aces-up and the winner.
A series of preliminary events have been taking place in the Horseshoe Council Bluffs poker room leading up to this weekend's $575 Main Event, and PokerNews is sharing brief recaps of the week's action.
RunGood Poker Series gave players something different to sink their teeth into with Thursday morning's $250 PLO8 Ring Event, and the event proved to be a rousing success, with 111 entrants hitting the felt to build up a $22,755 prize pool, divvied up between the top 12 players.
Scott Buller, whose very first Hendon Mob recorded cash is a win in a 2001 $250 PLO8 event in Shakopee, Minnesota, added to his over $1.2 million in live tournament earnings with a victory in this event, netting him $6,828 and a RGPS All-Stars Ring. Buller was able to make Day 2 of the $575 Main Event, but he'll have his work cut out for him with a short stack of 41,000.

With 7,000 already in the middle, Grant Hinkle checked a flop from the small blind, and his opponent in the hijack bet 3,200. Hinkle check-raised to 7,200, and the hijack three-bet shoved. Hinkle quickly called off his remaining 11,500.

The battle of the overpairs went to Hinkle after the 
turn and river failed to crack Hinkle's rockets.
Down to his last 4,900, Matthew Elliott got his chips in from under the gun, and was at risk against Bryan Skreens in middle position.

Elliott pulled in front on the 
flop, and never looked back on the turn and 
river to earn the double.
One hand later, Elliott managed to double again with ace-queen on an ace-high board, and now sits with above starting stack after having less than a quarter of that two hands prior.
Nebraska's Taylor Howard has been making a name for himself in the mid-major circuits in recent years, and Howard has already made a splash in this week's RunGood Poker Series at Horseshoe Council Bluffs, turning a $185 investment in Event #3: $185 Deepstack Ring Event into a $3,601 payday.
Howard has already spun up a stellar year of results in the short time that poker rooms have been running, with four cashes and a win in a $250 Turbo Bounty event in the bestbet Winter Open series in Jacksonville to start the year off in January. March saw Howard's rising stardom cemented, as he was able to ship the MSPT South Dakota State Poker Championship for $119,165 and his second career MSPT title.
Howard, who now has two cashes in RGPS events leading up to today's $575 Main Event, will certainly be one to watch as he looks to add a RunGood Poker Series All-Star Ring to his growing trophy case.
