The RunGood Poker Series All Stars Horseshoe Council Bluffs $575 Main Event is shaping up for another blockbuster day, as Day 1b and 1c of the Main Event are set to kick off today at Noon and 7 p.m. local time respectively.
In yesterday's Day 1a flight, 55 players advanced, with Joe Wilson leading the charge with 261,000. The rest of the top three include Marvin "Boomer" Schumer (220,000) and George Sanford (213,500). Other notables who managed to bag up chips include Phil Mader (164,500), Kevin Berthelsen (145,500), Greg Jennings (112,000), Justin Gardenhire (65,500) and Mo Nuwwarah (55,000).
Players begin with 20,000 in tournament chips, and blinds will kick off at 100/100. Blind levels are 30-minutes in length throughout all three Day 1 flights, and a 10-minute break will occur after Levels 4, 8 and 12. Registration and unlimited re-entry are open until the beginning of Level 9 on all three flights, and play will come to a close 30-minutes into Level 13.
All players who manage to make Day 2 will return on Sunday, June 27th at Noon to play down to a champion, who will not only earn the top prize and the All-Stars Ring, but will earn a Pro-Am seat into the exclusive RGPS All-Stars Event taking place at the PokerGO Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada later this year.
All 170 available seats for Day 1b have been sold, but alternates are available, while as of now, Day 1c still has open seats available.

RecPoker, an official partner of the RunGood Poker Series, is here in force for the $575 Main Event, and leading the charge is Steve Fredlund, who is both the founder of RecPoker and the host of the RecPoker Podcast.
Fredlund hosts a weekly podcast called "Chats", which are described on-site as "engaging conversations with wonderful people in the poker community," and recent guests include many prominent poker figures, such as Kenny Hallaert, Kevin Mathers, and even 2014 WSOP Main Event champ Martin Jacobson. Another weekly podcast called "Forums" is hosted by Jim Reid, and focus on strategy conversations sparked by the extensive threads in the RecPoker forums.
With an array of free content and a supportive community, some of whom have joined up with Fredlund in the "RecPoker House" nearby to attend this week's events, it's easy to see why RecPoker is a well-respected and popular site for engaging poker content.

With 1,200 in the pot and the flop on the felt, Rajasekhar Kola checked in the small blind, and Grant Hinkle bet 600 from middle position. Dustin Lindblad called in the cutoff, as did Kola.
Kola checked the turn to Hinkle, who bet 2,000. Lindblad called and Kola folded.
Hinkle bet 5,000 when the hit the river, and Lindblad paused for a moment before tossing his face-up on the felt and telling Hinkle, "You got it."

A player in early position checked a flop over to Corey Harris in middle position. Harris bet 2,500 into a pot of around 4,000 and the early-position player called.
The fell on the turn, and the early-position player checked again. Harris bet 3,500 and the early-position player quickly called.
Both players checked the river, and Harris showed , to which his opponent mucked.

A series of preliminary events have been taking place in the Horseshoe Council Bluffs poker room leading up to this weekend's $575 Main Event, and PokerNews is sharing brief recaps of the week's action.
RunGood Poker Series introduced players to their first $125 RunGood Senior's Event here at Council Bluffs, and players responded in droves, as 235 players built up a $23,500 prize pool to be divided amongst the top 24 entries.
RunGood Poker Series Photographer Joe Garrett made a deep run count, finishing in fourth-place, while Leonard Hiner and Marvin Schumer chopped up the final two spots, with Schumer taking the title, the All-Stars Ring, and $4,752. Schumer parlayed his Senior's Event win into a big day in the $575 Main Event, bagging 220,000 to take to Day 2 in the process.
