It is that time of the year again as poker enthusiasts from all over the world gather in their homes to battle for the titles in the popular 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). The biggest edition yet features $85 million in guaranteed prize pools throughout 80 events, each of which contain the following three tiers: Low (L), Medium (M), and High (H).
For the first time ever, the PokerNews team will provide conclusive updates of no fewer than 30 SCOOP events and the first high stakes action will be provided in Event #02-H: $2,100 NLHE. This special edition of the Thursday Thrill is an 8-max tournament and features a progressive knockout format with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000.
All players commence with a bounty of $1,000 on their head while $1,000 of each entry is added to the prize pool. Players will receive a minimum of $500 for eliminating an opponent, in the late stages of the tournament the bounty value may however be worth many times of that.

All those that take their seat in the first level of the event have 200 big blinds at their disposal with blinds of 250-500 and a running ante of 60, Day 1 will conclude after 8h50 of play.

PSPC Champion and PokerStars ambassador Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas has been spotted in action on a table that also features Josip "Jozinho6" Simunic. With the flop showing , "The Great Amu" checked and Colillas on the button continued for 1,014, one third of the pot, to pick up another call by "The Great Amu".
The fell on the turn and Colillas now made it 1,500 to go, which resulted in yet another call. No betting action happened on the river and "The Great AmU" tabled for a flushdraw that improved to top pair, which was good enough for the pot.
Simunic then lost a pot on the same table and also raise-folded to a three-bet by "OneH1tWonder".

Well-known Dutch poker pros Jorryt "TheCleaner11" van Hoof and PokerStars ambassador Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis have been spotted in the field. The latter has a big following on Twitch where he regularly streams tournaments. Early on, Veldhuis has lost some chips and faces Vlad "dariepoker" Darie and Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast.
On a three-way flop, Veldhuis in the small blind and "gambol_time" in the big blind check-called a bet by Vlad to see the turn. Veldhuis check-called another 6,247 by Vlad to see the river on which he then checked and faced a third barrel worth 14,089.
That proved to be enough to force a fold from Veldhuis, who dropped to just over 80k. The Dutchman won the next pot with ¢Jd10d] versus to climb back up.
