Big Pots; Big Stacks; Big Flips and a Break

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

"rickv17" min-raised to 16,000 and was called by "1EP3" and "BC1989RF" in the blinds. The {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop was checked and "1EP3" bet the {j-Clubs} turn for 18,810, which resulted in one fold. "rickv17 had other plans and raised to 65,000, which "1EP3" called.

The {3-Diamonds} appeared on the river and "1EP3" check-called a bet worth 120,000 to muck against {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. One hand later both tangled again in another decent pot and this time "1EP3" had the best of it when his valuebet with the {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} was called.

One of those big pots also happened on the table of "Fepoker20", who lost a flip with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} against the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} of "estebangocu. The {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts} run out gave "estebangocu" top set.

As the next 55 minutes of poker action then came to an end, the remaining 234 players headed into the next short 5-minute break.

Colillas Eliminated by Ylitalo

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas jumped back in via last minute re-entry just before the registration closed and hung around for some time. However, his tournament just came to a premature end when he clashed with Robin "robinho" Ylitalo.

Colillas put his hopes on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and he ran straight into the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} of Ylitalo. The {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts} board provided no help.

Zaichenko Keeps Adding; "Fepoker20" Wins Million Chip Pot

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A classic flip spelled the end for "sebass212" as he failed to hold with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} against the {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} of Andrey "kroko-dill" Zaichenko. The pot worth 50 big blinds was shipped to Zaichenko as the board came {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to deliver a queen on the flop.

A far bigger pot then took place at another table and vaulted "Fedopoker20" to more than one million in chips.

"Fedopoker20" raised to 15,610 and "AA DOCTOR" called from one seat over in the hikac. "Passiveaggro" had other plans and three-bet to 67,000, which was called both ways. After the {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, action checked to "Passiveaggro" and he bet 98,200, "Fedopoker20" jammed for 345,205 and "AADOCTOR" did so for 553,275 to force out "Passiveaggro".

Veldhuis Flushed Away By "Sasuke234"

Level 15 : 3,500/7,000, 875 ante

As decent as the start into the tournament has been, as frustrating the last hour must have been for PokerStars ambassador Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis and the final hand was painful. Online legend "Sasuke234" opened to 15,750 and was called by Rui "RuiNF" Neves from one seat over.

What followed was the shove for 101,097 by Veldhuis in the cutoff and "Sasuke234" isolated to force out Neves.

Veldhuis was ahead with {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} versus {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} but the {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop provided far more outs for "Sasuke234". The {j-Clubs} on the turn took a few of the outs away but sure enough the {3-Hearts} peeled off on the river to eliminate the Dutchman.

SHIR-1968 Scoops Massive Pot

Level 15 : 3,500/7,000, 875 ante

The possibly largest pot of the tournament to date has just taken place and former big stack "largomen1" made a move that cost him nearly all of his chips before bowing out to "etxnl01" in the next hand.

What had happened? "SHIR-1968" opened to 12,000 and he three-bet to hefty 48,000 from one seat over, which "SHIR-1968" called. On the {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, "SHIR-1968" check-called a bet of 66,000 with 242,860 behind and they checked the {q-Diamonds} turn. After the {10-Hearts} river, "SHIR-1968" check-called the shove with ace-king high and was good!

Kroko-dill strikes again
Kroko-dill strikes again

In the blink of an eye, another two dozen players including several notables have been eliminated. On the other side of the leaderboard is Andrey "Kroko-dill" Zaichenko, who usually builds a lot of towers when playing live poker.

Nearly 1.5 million chips belong to the Russian after he just knocked out "chrtinho" with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} versus {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, the board came {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.
