SCOOP Event #15-H End-of-Day Leaders

The PokerStars SCOOP 2020 is off to a fast start for a few players, namely that of ”0m3rta” and Jorryt "TheCleaner11" van Hoof. The two players wound up heads up for the title of Event #2-H, a $2,100 No Limit Hold’em event just two days ago, and “0m3rta” (5.48 million) will now be taking the chip lead into Day 2 of Event #15-H: $2,100 NLHE $1M Gtd.

Fedor “CrownUpGuy” Holz (2.1 million) and Sami "Lrslzk” Kelopuro (1.69 million) also finished in the top 10. Holz made a charge up the leader board shortly after registration closed and was seen with an above-average stack throughout the rest of the evening by way of knocking out players such as ”iamivar” and Brunno “botteonpoker” Botteon. Kelopuro’s journey to the top 10 came within the last 10 minutes of the night after he won two straight coin flips to launch him up the counts before play came to a close.

”fukuruku” (2.24 million) is another player to follow on Day 2, finishing seventh in chips on the day and doing so while also winning Event #9-H ($530 8-Max), topping a field of 930 entries for a first-place prize of $77,273.

Van Hoof (1.74 million) finished ninth in chips when Day 1 came to an end. He was at or near the top of the leader board all day long, propelled by winning two huge pots with pocket aces. The first instance occurred when he knocked out Sam "Str8$$$Homey" Greenwood with a river overbet that was more than three times the size of the pot, and he followed it up with a three-way all in that involved a full double through Jack “Swaggersorus” Sinclair, who wound up finishing with 907,000.

Other notable players to advance include Pedro “PaDiLhA SP” (1.53 million), Sam “SamSquid” Grafton (1.51 million), Eder “edercampana” Campana[/b[ (1.19 million), Twitch streamer [b]Joshua "slayerv1fan" Hoesel (1.18 million), and Leo “LeoFernandez” Fernandez (510,000).

Many more were less fortunate, including the likes of PokerStars Team Pro Ramon “RamonColillas” Colillas as well as Twitch streamers and PokerStars Online Team Pros Lex “L. Veldhuis” Veldhuis and Fintan “easywithaces” Hand.

Adrian “Amadi_17” Mateos, Parker “tonkaaaa” Talbot, and Charlie “Epiphany77” Carrel also were eliminated as the day went on, falling short of the money by less than an hour’s worth of play. Vicent “gordon0410” Bosca became the bubble boy not long after, when he called off all of his chips with pocket jacks to run into end-of-day chip leader “0m3rta’s” pocket aces.

Bosca’s elimination brought the field down to 71, which was the number needed to reach the money. From there, the entire first round of payouts was completed, and players such as Gary “quiditbear” Hasson (69th place), Arsenii “Josef_shvejk” Karmatckii (55th place), Kayhan “KayhanMok” Roshanfekr (52nd place), and Anthony “holdplz” Spinella (51st place) were among those to make it into the money and earn a first-level payout of $4,435.

Forty-two will advance to Monday’s Day 2, which will begin at 1 p.m. ET. Play will resume with approximately five minutes left in Level 23 (15,000/30,000/3,750), and levels will be 20 minutes in length until the completion of Level 36, at which point they will increase to half an hour and continue until a winner has been determined and the top prize of $196,648 has been claimed.

Who will be the last one standing? Come back to PokerNews Monday to find out.

"donut604": {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Spinella found himself way out in front but the flop came {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades} to give his opponent a flopped full house. All of a sudden, he was in trouble and the turn {q-Hearts} was of no help. However, the river was a miraculous {j-Clubs} to give Spinella a higher full house and score him the double and take his stack up to 376,000.

In the following few hands, Spinella was further able to chip up and now finds himself nearing a half-million.
