The event had a cap of 128 players and 119 were registered at the start of the day, with no late registration available. A great night was indeed for Drinan whose longest heads-up lasted for six levels. In the first round he was drawn without any opponent and just observed his way to Round 2. There, he was paired with Veldhuis and their match went on for six levels before he eliminate the Team Pro with sevens against deuces. The next two rounds were just a matter of five minutes each for Drinan, firstly against Sven "SvenCalls" McDermott and then against Ayras.

It wasn't the same for Nitsche, who had two long battles for Round 3 and 4, in order to earn his seat to Day 2. In Round 3, he faced "KennedyPK97" and they were the last heads-up of the round. In Round 4 Nitsche faced "Mukhin1" and they were the second to last heads-up before the end of the day. Nitsche managed to overcome his last opponent with a flopped set against a flopped two pair.

Day 2 will start on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. ET and the eight finalists will be paired again with each other to continue their race for the SCOOP title. After each heads-up they receive again the starting stack of 100,000 and start from Level 1 their efforts to beat their rivals. Just three rounds remain between the eight players of Day 2 and the title, meaning that whoever manages to win all three matches will be the next champion of SCOOP.

Come back tomorrow here at PokerNews to find out who will be the winner.
