After two days of intense action in the 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), a gargantuan field of 46,238 entries has been whittled down to its final 159 contenders. The survivors have already seen a great return on investment on their $109 buy-in, as $2,353 is awaiting them should they be the first to bust today.

The real money is at the top, as always, and the first-place prize of $434,762 will no doubt be on everyone's minds. Before that's up for grabs, the remaining players will first play down to the final table of 9, after which action will be suspended for the day. Blinds are already in level 45 with the blinds at 100,000/200,000 and an ante of 25,000.

Czech hopeful "larvovec" will return as the overwhelming chipleader with 44,059,712, nearly double that of his nearest challenger maaciehj. Notables such as Joep "Pappe_ruk" van den Bijgaart (3,260,693) and Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast (11,999,415) will also be back on the penultimate day.

Cards will be back in the air at 7 p.m. CET (5 p.m. GMT / 1 p.m. EDT). Blind levels are at 15 minutes so expect fast and furious action as we get closer to the big money today!

"larvovec" Loses Chip Lead to Fast

Level 49 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante
Dietrich Fast

In a blind-versus-blind battle against "LisaLizard", long-time chip leader "larvovec" got it in for thirty bigs with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} against {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. The flop brought an ace and the Czech player had to fork over 30 big blinds to "LisaLizard".

Meanwhile, Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast is now the new chip leader after winning a big pot with {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} versus "young_diam18"'s {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. On a {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Fast called a bet before raising a bet of 2,500,000 on the {a-Hearts} to 8,250,000. "young_diam18" called.

Both players checked the {k-Clubs} river and Fast picked up the 20M+ pot with a rivered straight.

Just before the break, "BCBoiii" and "auercan" played what's the biggest pot in the tournament so far. It started out innocious enough with "BCBoiii" completing the small blind and "auercan" checking his option.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and "BCBoiii" bet 1,200,000. "auercan" raised to 2,845,000 and "BCBoiii" called. On the {j-Hearts} turn, "BCBoiii" checked, "auercan" bet 2,796,500, "BCBoiii check-raised to 8,400,000 and "auercan" called to create an already sizable pot.

The river was the {q-Clubs} and "BCBoiii" jammed all the chips in. "auercan" called it off for 22,517,808 with {q-Spades}{8-Clubs} for the rivered two pair, while "BCBoiii" had nothing more than {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a whiffed open ender.

"LOL_U_91" Eliminates "larvovec"
"LOL_U_91" Eliminates "larvovec"

Just like that, the deep run of "larvovec" has come to a screeching halt. The Czech, who finished Day 2 off as the overwhelming chip leader, lost all of his to his bane "LOL_U_91" in a pot of more than 100 big blinds.

It was "LOL_U_91" who raised to 1,600,000 in middle position. "larvovec" who three-bet to 4,800,000 in the cutoff and "LOL_U_91" who called. The flop came {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and "LOL_U_91" checked. "larvovec" bet 6,400,000 and received a call.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Use checked. "larvovec kept up the aggression with a bet of 12,000,000, "LOL_U_91" check-raised all in for nearly 40 million and "larvovec called it off for 20,077,558 extra to create a pot of nearly 90 million in chips.

"LOL_U_91": {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
"larvovec" {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"larvovec" was drawing dead to the remaining queens but caught the {a-Hearts} instead to end his bid in 46th place.

Down to not even eight big blinds, Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast moved all in from early position and "Rhamaneyd" three-bet shoved all in for 37,736,625 on the button. Behind him, "young_diam18" woke up with a big hand and came over the top to put both players at risk.

Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
"Rhamaneyd": {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
"young_diam18": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

There was no help for both at-risk players during the {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs} runout, launching "young_diam18" up the leaderboard and ending the tournaments of Fast and "Rhamaneyd".

Piles for "auercan" now

Short stacked, "Mr.Raigo" shoved all in for 13,758,460 from early position. It got folded around to "auercan" in the small blind, who reshoved all in to isolate "Mr.Raigo".
However, "PolecatRider" found a hand in the big blind and overcalled all in for 45,112,545 total to create a 100M+ pot.

"Mr.Raigo": {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
"PolecatRider": {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
"auercan": {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop all but sealed it, giving "auercan" a commanding lead in the hand. Neither the {k-Clubs} turn nor {2-Hearts} river threatened it and two players were eliminated.
