Astedt responded with a five-bet jam worth 2,077,500 and "13santoy13" made the call to put Astedt at risk.

Astedt immediately flopped top set on Q♥J♦2♣ and locked up the pot once the 2♠ turn upgraded him to a full house. The meaningless 8♦ river was dealt and Astedt scooped up a pot of over four million.

That was not the end of his meteoric rise, however, as a few hands later he would get involved in a pot with Oleg "Fukuruku" Vasylchenko. Vasylchenko raised his button to 115,000 and Astedt defended his big blind. On the J♦6♦8♠ flop, Vasylchenko continuation-bet for 99,990 and Astedt made the check-call.

The turn 6♠ came about and Astedt now took the betting lead with a small bet of 165,983. Vasylchenko was a non-believer and made the call.

When the 9♠ river completed the board, Astedt seemed to slow down and returned to a check. Vasylchenko took the opportunity to make a bet of 601,161 before Astedt sprung the trap and check-raised all-in for 1,813,995 more. Vasylchenko went deep into his time bank, but could not muster a fold.

He called and got shown that Astedt rivered a full house with his 9♥6♣. Meanwhile, Vasylchenko was playing two pair with J♠9♣. A huge 5,667,258 pot was shipped Astedt's way and he conquered the overall chip lead.
