Urbanski Sends Koppe To The Rail

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

A short-stacked Kai Koppe moved all in from early position for 40,000, and Tom Urbanski re-raised all in for around 100,000 from the button. The blinds folded, and the cards went on their backs.

Koppe: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Urbanski: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, sending Koppe to the rail empty-handed in 17th place.

Myers Scores Knockout

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

After significant preflop action, three players took to a flop of {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Jeff Joseph checked over to the second player to act who open-shipped all in for 29,200. Chris Myers called the bet and Joseph went into the tank for about forty-five seconds before releasing his hand.

Myers: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Myers led with his pair of kings and stayed that way through the turn ({8-Clubs}) and the river ({8-Hearts}). Myers scored the knockout and brought his stack up to 195,000. This knockout reduced the field down to the final 18 and prompted a total redraw of the tournament field. A full seating chart will be posted shortly.

Rodney Budschuh Eliminated

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

On the last hand before the break, Rick Block raised to 4,200 from early position and Rodney Budschuh moved all in for 16,800 from the small blind. Howard Kitchie flatted from the big blind, and Block called as well. On the {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Kitchie fired 30,000 into the pot. Block opted to fold and was relieved when the cards were turned up.

Budschuh: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Kitchie: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

Kitchie's sneakily-played aces were way out in front, and they held up through the {8-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river. Kitchie is now working with around 145,000.

Vaccarello Spikes River, Doubles Through Mueller

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jack Vaccarello was all in preflop holding the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} against Johannes Mueller's {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Mueller was relatively safe through the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop and {7-Spades} turn, but the {A-Spades} on the river shipped the double to Vaccarello, leaving the former chip leader Mueller with just 23,000.

Budschuh Cracks Aces to Survive

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After a preflop confrontation that resulted in a three-way all in, Josh Knight rolled over two aces - the {A-Spades} and the {A-Hearts}, to show that he was dominating his opponents. Another short stacked player tabled {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} while Rodney Budschuh, also all in for his tournament life, flipped over {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

Knight was looking to scoop a sizable pot if his aces kept the lead. It looked as if this would be the case after the {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop hit the felt. The {7-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing, as Knight was still out in front with his bullets.

The river, however, brought the {Q-Clubs} down onto the felt with a thud which allowed several table members to release gasps while Budschuh bellowed in celebration. Budschuh was able to drag in the main pot and survive with 24,000 in chips. Knight's aces were still better than the third players treys, though, which allowed him to grab the side pot.
